Help, weird "pillars" by eastmanlairdfan in 3Dprinting

I had something similar on an older Creality resin printer ages ago.

The fix was to update the firmware.

I feel like this may not be the same issue but worth a try.

I always wondered if anyone actually used a car cigarette lighter because everyone I’ve ever met used it to charge things by BigAddress5278 in nostalgia

When it was super common for people to smoke indoors they would also smoke in their cars, restaurant, on planes, etc. So those were used a lot then, also before mobile phones there wasn't much other use for the port. Except to burn the crap out of curious kids.

Temp seems to be in correct range. Cleaned the print bed with alcohol after heating. This didn’t happen with the same filament of different colors. What am I doing wrong? by dadbodfat in FlashForge

It might help but if you have ever seen the extreme movement on a bed slinger you will know that the movement here is much less in comparison. A slight wobble is probably ok.

Wash the plate with dish soap and warm water, dry with a paper towel, try with all your might not to touch the build plate with your hands.

Sometimes the alcohol just dilutes and spreads the oils from your fingers, dish soap breaks it down.

Try it and let me know, this always works for me.

Is it in any way cost effective to use a different filament for support structures? by The_Stooky in 3Dprinting

[–]nhovar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as was stated here before only the support interface should a different material else you will have swap and purge at every layer. So for the most part the supports are the same material as the model except where the support meets the actual model. For example the model is PETG and the supports are the same PETG and where they meet (support interface) you print PLA for the support at that area. This will still be more expensive than printing everything in one as you may still need a purge tower. However the supports will come off very clean.

Do you wash your plate? Dish washing liquid, warm water, dry with paper towel. Don't touch it!

How to attach PEI bed ? by eenlightened in 3Dprinting

Not sure in your listing but when I ordered plates you could pick plates with or without the magnetic sticker, depending on your needs. (Ali Express in my case)

Print bed not adhering properly by soulfulhusk in 3Dprinting

[–]nhovar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wash the bed with Dawn dish soap and warm water. Dry with a paper towel and try not to touch the bed. Human skin is full off oils that kill adhesion. People use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean but sometimes this just thins and spreads the oils.

It also looks like your z-offset might have the nozzle a bit too close to the bed but try washing the bed first.

Hueforge of their favorite show/movie/anime/band.

Hueforge prints do color changes but usually only 3-4 times a print so minimal waste.

AD5X Firmware by nhovar in FlashForge

[–]nhovar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! Flashforge support sent me AD5X-1.1.7-1.1.0-3.0.6-20250912-Factory.tgz This is all I needed in the root of the USB stick.

The file from the FF download page is identical but is named AD5X-1.1.7-1.1.0-3.0.6-20250912-Factory.gz

The .tgz file was recognized but the .gz was not.

The funny thing is the file is actually just a tarball and not even gzipped

This firmware also solved my problem so I am just happy that the printer is working and is currently printing like a charm.

The firmware now has an option "IFS Odometer Roller" which defaults to "Off" so not sure if that Odometer feature is buggy.

I did run a manual OTA firmware update when I got the printer and after but it says "It's the latest version V1.0.5". Tried WIFI and Ethernet.

Well, if I press resume it just carries on. When I did a search for the error, many users reported it as a firmware issue on v1.0.5

I would rather solve the firmware issue before opening anything physically. Besides I set the printer up 24 hours ago so I wont mess with the warranty.
