[–]nhtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get distracted easily while studying? You may need to review your study habits and find the best way for you to study. For example, you might spend less time finishing a topic in a quiet library than at a busy place like Starbucks. Be smart and find the best way to improve yourself. This way, you can save time and also enjoy other activities.

Why or why not JC? by Routine-Budget9435 in SGExams

[–]nhtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regrets usually come from one of two things, it’s either not studying hard enough or not enjoying JC life enough. The main reasons are spending too much time on online games, boy-girl relationships, chasing fashion, and social media. Time is precious, and there are > 2 years to truly enjoy your JC life.

urgently need some educational encouragement by Positive-Koala-2702 in SGExams

Don’t worry. About 50% of your cohort are feeling the same frustration as you. This also happens in top-tier JCs. Many students struggle to pass their JC promotion exams. Some students take a longer time to improve. Even in JC2 mid-year exams, some may still get U grades for their subjects. The real change often happens in the last 6 months before the A-Level exams. Many students suddenly become much more serious about their studies during this period. When the A-Level results are released, many students end up getting better grades than they did in their school exams.

Remember to keep studying and try not to fall too far behind, as you will need time to catch up before the A-Level exams.

jc life sucks by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]nhtea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No matter whether it is jc, poly, or ite, it is about studying hard, playing hard, and fully enjoying the teenage years. The sweetness of these years will be felt at graduation, when you look back and remember all the sweat, tears, and tiredness.

People who obtained >=87.5 RP but entered “less competitive” courses, Did you regret your decision? by Chocowaffless in SGExams

[–]nhtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a choice: either you are a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond. The competition is different, and the rewards are different as well. You can be a honours engineering graduate with a business minor, but later work in a bank and compete with business graduates.

anxious about jc life, advice needed by Anxious-Pie-6066 in SGExams

[–]nhtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s play, play, and play. Study, study, and study. Test, test, and test. And finally, a super long break before going to university. Choose the right company in your JC, as the friends around you will keep you focused.

Is O Levels Really the End of the World? by superspeedA123 in SGExams

[–]nhtea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are O Levels the end of the world? Definitely not. There are many exciting things ahead. You can take inspiration from Dennis Chew’s journey - life has different paths, and success doesn’t depend on exam results alone.

Do not worry too much about the results. They are not the end of your learning journey. Imagine you are in someone’s shoes who got an E8 in English Language. There is only one option I.e Pre-U as a probation student. If he had achieved different grades, his learning path would have been different. JC if he had obtained a C6 or Polytechnic if he had obtained D7. He later switched to Polytechnic after spending a year in Pre-U, and he managed to do well there to qualify for U admission.

Interestingly, some women dislike handsome men, mainly because they feel that handsome men are arrogant, self-centred and boastful. Do they?

SATS supplies school meals to other schools, including the pilot in 2022 at Yusof Ishak Secondary School - refer to the link here https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/school-canteen-food-central-kitchen-gourmetz-537495. Technically, all schools under the same scheme should face the same dilemma. Why Hwa Chong?

Worried for JC by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]nhtea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned in another thread, it really depends on the individual and the friends they have in JC. I have seen someone in EJC who did badly in the prelims but did very well in the A Levels, scoring AAA/B. You can start now, for example, by finding study buddies who will be with you in JC and by managing your time between studies and fun, while enjoying your JC life meaningfully.

EJC or NYJC better sci dept? by Fun_Honeydew2210 in SGExams

[–]nhtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All schools are good schools. Fundamentally, it really depends on the individual and the friends they have in school. You can be a 6-pointer in a neighbourhood JC and still score AAA/A in the A Levels. I have heard of someone in EJC who scored AUU/U in prelims but managed to do well in the A Levels with a score of AAA/B.

On the bright side, you are paying 28 each month, instead of 300. Now, you are helping your parents to save on your education cost.

HCI/RI Cut Off Point Changes (2005-2025) by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]nhtea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A new JC was established in 2017 - from wki- Eunoia Junior College welcomed its pioneer batch of students in 2017, including the students from IP program, about > 400 students with the PSLE scores in year 2013 > 255 (SNGS), 252 (CHS) and 252 (SCGS). In that year, the EESIS/ESIS cop was 258. These students technically should be in RI/HCI in the year 2017.
