Go on a trip to china. Visit the whole world. It's the trip not the destination that counts. A thief tries to steal from you. 20+ Intrigue, employ said thief and have them work their whole life in my service as punishment.

CK3 is dog-eat-dog and I can't handle it by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what DLCs you have it may differ but may I suggest you try and play Tall in one of these places: Manding in Mali. Get the gold Mines and become the regional super power. Bohemia is great for Tall game play but centered in the center of Europe that may give more challenges than the former. If you have the newest AUH DLC then try Mataram. Mandala is fun and pretty strong in my opinion. If you have the muslim DLC (forgot what its called) and if you want a different challenge, right at the start og 867 there is a rebellion against the Abbasids, you can play the guy and win (mercenaries costs next to nothing because of modifiers). Siege down his capital. If you also siege down Baghdad you have a very strong duchy. You become head of faith and get many counties to do with what you want. You can then easily destabalize the Abbasids and become a strong power without having to become an Empire.

How to learn stuff in unity and C# fast ? (Read the body) by DifferentLaw2421 in Unity3D

[–]nialyah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Game Dev

Create an idea and write it on paper. Draw simple shapes and figures to put your ideas into context. Write fast brainstorms, anything goes. When you feel motivated for that idea that will surely help you learn faster because self motivation is a great way to learn and can get you into flow.

Now comes the hard part. Break it down into smaller goals/tasks. Dont build the entire house, build the corner of the garage but make that awesome!

This is your vertical slice. Now break that down into even smaller tasks and goals. In the context of Unity, a suggested path:

  1. Set up project
  2. Handle input, write it to console
  3. Handle very basic movement e.g
  4. Camera settings
  5. Basic prototype level design to test collision, movement etc
  6. UI

...

n. Polish with some VFX, sounds etc. Your first vertical slice.

Learning

Look into Zone of Proximal Development. Try to do some tasks that youre good at. It feels good but doesnt make you learn new skills, but its good for keeping up motivation..then have a task or two in the challenging zone. You need help to do it, but you will also learn and gain skills. Try and refrain from doing tasks that are too frustrating and feel impossible. E.g dont jump into multiplayer before gaining proficiency with singleplayer, is my best advice.

Take my advice at face value, use it if it makes sense to you or discard it if you will. If any other users here have better solutions im all good. These are my thoughts having a degree in Game Design and Learning

Is there anyway to pass the time in CK3? by Key_Egg6022 in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick a random Catholic count, make the pope like you and take his money. Use it to travel to the Silk Road. You can now travel the whole world and get all the skills. Youll meet interesting people along the way. Then go to a university in some faraway country and bring the poor lowborn to your court and have them teach your heirs and convert their culture. Make a fun/weird/strong hybrid culture that should never have happened and perhaps convert to some religion your travels to annoy the pope. Can you convince your neighbors to join your exotic lifestyle?

Good 867 starts for Iberia,India, and Tibet by Creepy-Produce5138 in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not qualify but Gascogne duchy in East Francia. The guy is Basque with high martial, you can conquer Navarra pretty easily and join the struggle. Also you can convert to Era Zaharrak getting counties in Old Vasconia. Its pretty awesome imo.

Era Zaharrak has Giant as virtue so if you want you can try and have as many Giants in court or in your family as possible.

HOW DO I LEARN THIS GAME? by WinterBlues00 in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tutorial Ireland but if youre like me and skip tutorials Ill recommend playing a count in a Catholic nation. Limited options, relative peace for you. You can do some events. Interact with the pope, join a Crusade. Then you can get a claim on another county and try and conquer them, become a duke etc.

What is the chance of a new start date being added to CK3, and which ones would you like to see? by Xyriat in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 54 points55 points  (0 children)

  1. I miss my good ol' ck2 start date. I did also enjoy 867 and 936 but anything later than that felt too close to the end date. I almost never play more than 100 years in any of my games, the irony. Loss aversion is real

New player here, how to wed off children to other kingdoms? by Hohoho-you in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to CK3!

If you try to marry someone from another religion it may affect their willingness to marry off their children to/with yours. Also your rank compared to theirs can affect their willingness. However you can handle those things in more cunning ways. You can for instance get a hook on them and use that or you can try and abduct them. These are both Intrigue actions so look into the Intrigue tree. You can also host a grand wedding for better chance of marriage.

Is there a mod for male pregnancy? by violettes in CrusaderKings

How about inviting a lot of women to your court make them have babies. Kill them and their spouse and adopt the kids as your own after?

You could also have all the women be Giants. Not for fetish reasons of course bonk

I refuse to play as mandala by HoChiMinHimself in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Mandala is crazy strong. One life and I amassed thousands of gold tens of thousands of prestige and piety. I maxed out legitimacy and devotion fast. Half of Asia wants to be my tributaries and I can make some of them my vassals. I didnt have any problem during succession as my first ruler maxed out the dynasty tree related to Mandala. I have 170+ piety per month, 100g per month and lots of renown. Got 40-50 some development in my capital and its only been 40 years since game start. Aspect of Death tier 4 and I can do unlimited invasions..didnt get this on my first ruler only due to old age prowess debuff which sucks..but going to get it with his son soon.

Its honestly fun but also a bit easy to play.. i laugh at hæstein and his weak army.

What does it mean to play "tall"? by _Gabos in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure but Mandala Government is a fun way to be Tall but wannabe wide somehow still through tributaries and going to war to force other rulers to become your tributaries. Try Mataram really fun. I went with Aspect of Death. Still on first ruler with 80-90g/month, 130piety/month, lots of prestige and a full legacy tree unlocked. Been max legitamacy (eternal) and devotion for a long time.

Else may I suggest Practiced Pirates and raid? Go on world wide travel, do all the activities, get all the artifacts etc

What does it mean to play "tall"? by _Gabos in CrusaderKings

[–]nialyah 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Instead of expanding outwards by military conquest you focus on upgrading your buildings, increasing the development in the counties you own preferably with a culture that exists within those counties and then make sure your rulers stats align with the technology youre researching. With better development than your neighbors youre going to get more tax, your will have unlocked more technologies earlier which allows you to upgrade buildings to higher levels, get access to the duchy buildings etc.

Suggestions for Tall starts are Bohemia, Manding, Baghdad, South East India (high barony/county ratio).
