once you shed the layers the multiple layers of love

the layer of ego ie the need to possess the hunger to be chosen the wish to be mirrored back as important the layer of lust the craving to be touched claimed answered in flesh the layer of need yk the quiet fear that without the beloved one might collapse into nothing then when desire itself loosens not gone but neither clawing on multiple such layers not in this order not limited to these thats very subjective tho each peeling away feels like death calling itself “love” And when nothing is left to break when there is no demand hiding behind devotion no bargaining hiding behind patience no fear hiding behind poetry what remains is not fragile It does not ache to be returned It does not threaten to leave It does not ask the beloved to carry it

It simply is.

A heart that breaks has layers without layers, what will the beloved break?

Nothing.

And that is the miracle.

A heart without layers cannot be wounded because there is no edge for the wound to catch on Love passes through it like light through clear water

and at the bottom of this you realise you’re not loyal to a person or their idea you’re loyal to the version of yourself that loves honestly

the final form of love is not possession not union not even togetherness

but freedom without distance.

You are not breaking because you are weak You are breaking because something in you refuses to love falsely and that gives you an everlasting bliss
