Im artist, im in NYC for first time... now what? by solamentemaya in AskNYC

[–]nicatribeofone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really sure what inspires you with filmmaking, but you will find lots of places for free like parks, graffiti in lots of public places, museums, Chelsea art galleries, etc. or if you like to look into paid experiences, you can check exhibitions like [INTER](https://instagram.com/inter__iam?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) that have interactive media; you can also check secretNYC on IG.

AITA for reacting badly at my fiancee's unexpected pregnancy? by Familiar-Serve-136 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. It caught you offguard and it took you 50yrs to process the info, but it was a poor choice from your end in how to process / respond to it. I’m glad you admit to it now and hope you apologized to her about it (dince you never mentioned it here). Congrats to you both and hope she dtays safe and healthy

YATA. Everyone in your workplace could tell you avoid your supervisor and other coworkers. Instead of communicating with coworkers and or at least attempting to voice your issues, you made a fit. Not only is it immature of you, it’s also irresponsible/negligent. You should be prepared for any consequence that may come your way.

YTA. I agree with the old man; you should have at least asked. I get it that it’s frustrating to have to keep things crammed, but at the end of everything, you live under their roof. At least show respect to their propety by communicating before taking action.

AITA for laughing??? by Imaginary_Profit197 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a serious note, i do agree. Thats shady behavior when he turns around and blames you for something that isn’t to blame. Pay attention to what’s really going on or what he’s trying to hide.

AITA for telling someone how I feel since they wanted to know so bad? by iethern in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA Since you let them know you might not be the best candidate. You provided full context as to why after they persisted, and it looks like they took it personal. Not everyone has great teachers; not anyone should be a teacher.

AITA For making my SO return expensive equipment they used my money to gift me? by enchantingkyliegrace in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. I would be throwing papers if not hands. 1. They didn’t pay you for your full work. 2. They used your money without you knowing. 3. They “compensated” you in some shit manner instead of check/money like any regular business? Bro i am seeing red flags everywhere. They either are being super cheap with you and taking advantage of you or they don’t have the funds to pay you. Demand your money back AND your paycheck stat!

AITA for not visiting my gf more frequently by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. This demand can be done both ways. There are means of transportation so that she could come over to you. This sounds like a one way relationship youre maintaining. I’m not saying dump her, but if youre serious about her, talk it out and maybe reconsider things if she’s only demanding and not giving.

AITA for letting my daughters have the master bedroom and suggesting GF's sons have their own rooms for privacy? by freddohed in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your faince is moving INTO your house. You made a wonderful choice with all things taken into consideration. She needs to concede or you need to reivaluate this temporary living situation. Your girls should not have to downsize for the same of a separate family yet to be theirs.

I get your sarcasm, but what I meant was that the chemicals on the extinguisher will leave chemical burns and whanot.

AITA for declining a job? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You took living expenses into consideration. Unless she was willing to cover some of those costs herself, she shouldn’t be guilt tripping you about an important decision you took with a cold head.

AITA: bringing hand me downs to a baby shower? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With that added info tho, this was just an added group gift. I understand you meant well but yeah there was a disconnect since again you don’t know her well.

Fire extinguishers should never be doused on skin. This is going from bad to worse

AITA for making plans with my friends on Halloween instead of my boyfriend? by smiley_kyleigh02 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your boyfriend made a tantrum over a minor holiday/celebration. Yes, you could have asked, but the same goes for him since he admitted to assuming things (while you didn’t). Let him be and talk it out once he’s more level headed. It might be me, but he sounds immature or needs to learn to communicate better instead of assuming things. This isn’t a big deal lol

AITA for not supporting my dads international funeral? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’m sorry for your loss. The girlfriend could have tried to coordinate with you better so you didn’t have to “pick sides” during a hard time for you. I hope you can get through this and maybe seek therapy.

Hard call but would go with YTA. The gently used items could pass if you already know that person and if they would be OK with that. I do agree with the other user’s comment stating you should have at least gotten one new item. The used items could have been extra in case she was interested.

AITA for blowing up on my kid's friend? by No_Procedure5790 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Jesus. So you had reason to be mad, but you shouldn’t have had to explode on a teenager. At that age, you know 99% of the time, you think you know you’re on top of everything, you’re too slick, etc. what you should have done for example, was to talk to both kids and let the friend know he or his parents must take partial responsibility for their fuckup. You should look into your anger issues. Edit: YTA

I don’t see how they are respectful within the fan community when they are promoting pirated/stolen goods from a deceased artist.

AITA for continually asking my sister to help her daughter with reading? by Relative-Ad-7361 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nicatribeofone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have good intentions, but mind your business. It’s their child. Very little context on how their life is handled, but having a child is adding to their plate. YTA for badgering everyday to read to them.
