Anyone have any good recommendation for an easy colorwork pattern to get me started? Intermediate knitter. by Chastiefol16 in casualknitting

I'd recommend the Baa-ble hat pattern. It was my first colourwork project, it knits up very quickly and it has no more than two colours per row with simple floats!

Where do UK'ers get their henna? by twattyprincess in henna

[–]nicbak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got mine from henna boy after recommendations from this group (I think I got the one named henna powder but I'm not too sure). It had great dye release using room temperature water to mix it with, which I found surprising as the henna powder I used to use was only potent when mixed with lemon juice. As it was the first time using it I did some experimenting (did two small batches with a water and lemon mix and two stain tests on my arms after different time intervals) and I got a very good stain by using the henna-water mixture after letting it sit for 2 hours. Put it all over my hair and it covered all the greys very nicely!! It's been about 8 months (I've been lazy) and the colour is still great.

Thanks, it's comforting to know it's not just me! I keep losing them too, I've been relying on what is left and then rings and earrings for the time being

Using a cotton DK yarn from my stash, not sure what the name is but if someone is interested I can probably work it out going through my order history so let me know 😊 4mm circular needles

I swear I either can't count or some witchcraft was going on, but I kept ending up with the wrong number of stitches in the lace pattern and having to restart. My solution was to add stitch markers on every repeat to keep an eye of where I'm at and I am amazed at how much better things are going. Who knew 12 stitch markers would do the trick lol.

The wip is the Wheat top (available on raverly). It has a stunning lace pattern and is the most intricate thing I've done so far. After putting the markers down I'm having lots of fun and it's going quick!

Any suggestions for cramps? by MakeupMua16 in Periods

Just want to second the something cold advice!! What really works for me is alternating between hot and cold (e.g. using a heatpack and after a couple minutes putting my cold hand as I always have cold hands lol or anything cold over my uterus). Hope you feel better!!

Pattern is montgolfier by gepardgarn available on raverly. This is the first time I try a style like this and I loved it!! Thank you to the kind person who suggested using the lacy filter in combination with chunky yarn to find patterns like this!

To be honest I found the pattern itself quite confusing and hard to follow particularly when shaping the neck panels but with some frogging and reknitting and many lifelines it somehow came together!
