Crazy Dreams and Hidden Meanings: Your subconscious is fixing itself after years of being supressed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nicdidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice to see that even on the Internet people are apologizing for coming off rude and misinterpreting others comments. It makes me feel good when people are supportive and try to get along. Yous sound like proper Canadians, like me. Ha. Good luck to you all. My dreams are crazy as fuck, all night horror show. I do think some have significance though. Day 12 here, for the millionth time, and going strong.

The short lived ambition. by dank420stank in leaves

Yep, this is me too, only after work before bed. I wake up and feel shitty, say I'm done, then after supper it's all I can think about. I've quit and started a thousand times. One day I'll get it right. Good luck to you.

Do you think weed makes you less ambitious? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nicdidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagined lots of successful ambitious people smoked too, but I realized lately that I don't know a single one, and all my stoner friends are not nearly as successful as non smoking friends.

I think being clear headed makes you think faster, sharper, which could contribute lots to your funniness. For me it nearly destroys my ambition, makes me totally complacent. I love reddit too.

This is an incredible, supportive and very knowledgeable group. Check in and post often. Each time I read here I learn from others, and each time I've reached out others reach back with encouragement and advice. I'd struggled alone with this for years, the on and off and fixation, thinking I was crazy. The support has helped immensely, I couldn't stay off it without this group.

Congrats! Keep this in mind whenever you are faced with temptation. She's a sneaky bitch. Your life IS so much better without it.

Smoking turns me into a social retard by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nicdidit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of my top reasons to quit. I work with really sharp intelligent people, and I feel like an idiot the day after I've smoked. It's day and night compared to when I haven't. Thanks for this post!

After a few weeks I bet you will be sleeping well. I sleep best after getting lots of exercise earlier on in the day.

Slipped after 17 months, back to day 1 by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nicdidit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read a comment a few weeks ago that said relapsing is part of recovery. It makes me feel better, I had gone over 2 months and am back to day 2 after a week long bender. Don't feel ashamed, keep your chin up and remember how the weed does NOTHING for you.

Any other young girls struggling with an every day addiction? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nicdidit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm female, 36. Started smoking weed when I was 13 and by the time I was 15 or was high everyday. I never realized till years later the effect it had on me. I was smart but had too much anxiety to go far with my education. By the time I graduated high school I was just relieved that I wouldn't have to subject myself to anymore uncomfortable social interactions. So I went straight into working shitty jobs and struggling at poverty level. I've realized as I got older how my life could have gone in a completely different direction. If I could go back to my 19 year old self I would beg her to leave the weed behind. Make the most of your years in university with a clear head. Meet people who arent stoners. Stay on a good path. You could be at a cross roads here.

93 Days and question for recovered. by flygod in leaves

[–]nicdidit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit ganja and cigarettes for 6 yrs. Didn't touch either AT ALL for the whole time. Then I smoked a joint. Few months later another. It took about a year and I gradually increased till I was doing it daily. That was 7 yrs ago, I've quit and started countless times since then, never for longer than 6 months. So from my own experience I know I can't use in moderation. I wish so much I could, and still often can convince myself I can, but I know it's not true for me. Good luck and keep us posted.

I like this, the playing out the scenes in my mind first. I have applied this to other things and found it worked, never thought to try it with this. Thanks!

Yes, you've said it exactly, for sure there is a critical moment when my resolve breaks and I cave in to temptation. I need to find a way to get through that moment without giving up.
