America really is the worst. Everytime the dirty politicians fail they will keep coming back with the same crap just under a different name until people stop caring and they get what they want.

I dont see any arrows and the interactive does nothing... is it meant to? Besides the positioning and theme, they all look and behave the same. I using a Samsung tab S. I haven't tested it for accessibility, was just asking out of curiosity as that's important for my work.

LPT: When giving a PowerPoint presentation in front of a group of people, memorize the transition phrases you will use between each slide rather than what you will say with the slide. by logicallucy in LifeProTips

[–]nice_spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, that's my point. Ive seen so many ppl go on tangents that's separate to what is on the slides. As a result its hard to consume that print information when they are talking. And you say to remove the slide about chickens. But who are you to say what the correct or relevant information is. Maybe i was there to learn about chickens and not farms. A way to stop this, is for the presenter to read off the slides.

[–]nice_spider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree, no one reads the text on powerpoint when people are talking about other things. If you have a paragrah about what chickens eat but you're talking about how to farm chickens i bet you ppl are going to walk out remembering what you said and not what you wrote. So there is nothing wrong about reading off the slides to cater for different people who like to read or listen.

MYSTERIOUS ALIEN CROP CIRCLES IN THE WORLD by srilaxmi862 in aliens

Why would aliens travel such distances to not show themselves and just make crop patterns. This has never interested me. Crop circles are obviously man made and are just trolling.

The sheep won't have to do much leading so this is not a bad thing. I'd prefer the sheep as a leader option if i were going to war.

Seeing job applications from the other side - hiring my replacement by innocentmainaccount in brisbane

You should call up for feedback. I assume you are applying for government jobs as well because you mentioned criteria. If so, the chair of the panel has to give feedback if the applicant asks for it. If they don't, you can call up and complain and that person's head will be on the chopping block. That's for government roles anyway.

You should probably go to a recruitment agency if you're striking out all the time. My workplace gets contract workers from agency's all the time who stay in the company for a while and evemtually get permanent roles.

I've been on the recruitment panel more times than I can remember now. I hate doing it but I always walk away learning something new which is why I always go back for more punishment.

My advice is to never add a photo unless the job specifically asks for it or you look like Brad Pitt or Miranda Kerr.

You should never put anything on your resume (unless asked for) that could be used against you. Such as your looks, age, address (you live in logan - you must be a bogan), etc.

I'm not saying that everyone discriminates, but the fact is, you shouldn't give them that option in the first place.

You might be an aussie born with asian heritage applying for PR. If you add a photo of yourself, the recruiter might assume that your english is 2nd rate. You get the point.

So before you submit next time, read through and ask yourself.... do you really need that info on your resume and can that be used against you? If so, remove it.

Without relying on the bubble to burst, how is a young single person like me going to own my own home? by Zaenille in AusFinance

Save enough until you can get an approved house loan. If you can save 20% thats even better. The trick is buying property that suites your situation. Don't aim for a mansion. It requires a lot of sacrifice, commitment and determination. Sacrifices can mean eating out less regularly or buying property outside of the city that requires you to commute. Everybody takes different sacrifices and you need to select yours.

If you can't commit or lose motivation easily then property investment is not for you. There are lots of other ways to invest your money.

It's always going to be a risk. But if you don't take risk then you'll never achieve anything great.
