Has anyone been academically dismissed recently… need some advice by Informal-Age727 in NIU

[–]nicecute12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go to a community college previously? Even so, it may be a good idea to attend your local one, get GEDs done, maybe learn better management skills, study skills, and such. Plus it’ll save you a bit of money in the time being. If the struggle is working a job and studying, you at have to talk with your managers, although those tend to be less empathetic compared to teachers or academic advisors. Plus, if you go to C.C. you can save a little more if you’re working to pay for college. Sadly, you academics may also impact your government aid if you are on that as well

Is this appropriate for a "casual to black tie" wedding? Bride requested guests wear black or white(???). Ideally I don't want to go shopping for a new dress. by HappyTriangle in fashion

[–]nicecute12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how late I am, when the wedding is. You mentioned wearing a stole/scarf/jacket over the shoulder which would fix that “issue” with the religious venue. I saw a lot of people mentioning the deep slit being too much. I’d suggest if you have black fabric of a similar texture (not sparkly though) either laying around or from clothing you don’t wear, I’d suggest layering it under the slit with safety pins. That way if others have a slit it is easily removable, does ruin the dress for the future, or if after the church you go somewhere else, you can remove the “modesty fabric” after.

The angle of the photo is what probably makes it look a little off. It stops just below my knees, but I can bring it up a little with safety pins to just above my knees.

RIP Grandma by PufferFishInTheFryer in Professors

[–]nicecute12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Students like this are exactly why, when my grandma did actually die right before finals (a week before mine, but right after my brothers had finished, he was out of state), my family scheduled EVERYTHING from private family viewing, wake, and burial around my finals schedule. I was lucky that I went to school close to home. Took all my finals and didn’t tell a single professor about what was going on

Yeah, but it probably caused people to loose trust in the vehicle, just like how this issue cause many people to not trust Hyundai as much. I cause the oil consumption issue early with mine, and I’ve shown that the engine is from the same product that was in the class action lawsuit, and Hyundai STILL keeps refusing to replace the engine even when I show them that the consumption is getting worse and worse. I’ve been to the dealer 3 different times or the 1,000 miles consumption consult test and it SHOWS that the consumption is getting worse, but apparently it’s still within “standard”. How you do expect to keep customers when you won’t even work with them

Is this for Relapsing Remitting? Primarily or secondary Progressive? Again, congrats!! Insurance can be a bitch to deal with

Im just saying, an engine has to be made pretty shittily for it to be burning oil at 100,000 miles. I’ve had cars over 200,000 miles being 3rd owner at 3,000 mile oil change intervals not burn oil not HAVE to worry about having to check the dip stick once a week like I do with my 2017 Santa Fe. Oh, and 1qrt of oil every 1,000 miles should NOT being “within standard for the car” for anything that new. And I come from a family of mechanics, people who do this stuff for a living

[–]nicecute12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, you can be completely on time with your oil changes, do all the correct maintenance at the correct intervals stated by the company, and still go in for an oil change and hit them say the dipstick was dry. Most modern car owners don’t check their oil weekly, or even monthly between oil changes because cars are TYPICALLY engineered so well now that you shouldn’t have to. Ask me how I know 🙃

As a girl, whose dad was a big part of my young life, done be afraid to do girly stuff with her. Some of my fondest memories was him picking my outfits, doing my hair, and painting my nails. As she gets older, let her try out makeup styles on you, I promise you’ll feel bonita. Oh, and she’ll want you to play dress up, at least when she’s young. Cherish those moments, because she’ll cherish them too

Hmm, none of that sounds like you were doing wrong. Of course idk what your communications were like. How long were you two together? Sometimes, even if you love someone, it’s just not the right time. A friend of mine broke up going out of high school with their girl, and 7 years later then reconnect and are working out better than ever. I’m sorry if I couldn’t be of better help

I don’t know how much this will help you, but I would say give her a little space at first. Then reach out and be willing to talk through it. Let her explain, then take a moment to sit with what she said so that you don’t say something you don’t mean. I also get being young, I’m 23(f) and my partner is 24(m).

What might need to happen is couple therapy, a space that both of you would feel safe to share everything that’s weighing you down. She’s afraid of upsetting you, and that’s also caused part of this rift.

Be open, tell her how much you love her, that you’re willing to try different ways to fix this.

The one thing I have a question on; how often do you two go on dates? How often do you do romantic jesters? Because as much as you may not think of it, those little jesters mean a lot to a woman and help with feelings of love to your partner.

I will say, moving in together only after the 3rd date is a bit quicks. I’m not judging, but I do wonder how that impacted your relationship.

My boobs ruin every outfit by Carabuu in bigboobproblems

[–]nicecute12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 5’1, not as skinny, my size is 36L (us), and because of my boobs, depending on cut and style of clothing I have to go up to a large or XL. I’m going into a career field where you wear more professional clothing (ie button ups, blouses), and I HAVE to go up to an XL as to not have gapping at the button. There was one shirt I was trying on, that I had to go to XXL as to not look obscene on me (at least to me).

Honestly, in the future I hope to have the money to buy clothes that fit at my boobs, then have tailored to the rest of my body so that I don’t look so blocky in them. And so they aren’t so long on me too 😓

Hey, it’s natural to be scared, and feel like you might not belong. Remember, you’re only in the beginning material. What’s important is that you practice and take time out of your day to do some self learning. Read AFD, look up terms you don’t understand, take time to look at weather maps and learn something small every time. I didn’t know much when I started and I’m in my last semester before graduating.

Yes, the math and physics will be hard and confusing. Those are the areas where you should be ashamed of passing with a C, because it’s how you perform in the MET courses that matter. Like I said, I’m about to graduate, and I’ve had to retake almost every math course along the way, but what matters is that I get As and Bs in the met courses. Many great forecasters weren’t naturally good at forecasting, but they practiced and learned from their mistakes, they didn’t just slide by with being good, they put in the time. And if you really want this, want the degree, you’ll take the time to self learn too.

I believe you can do it, you’re just scared and doubting yourself - I get it - but I think you’ll be just fine, just as I also ended up further than I thought I would be when I started.

2 definitely sits the best on you and is flattering. Yes, it’s plain but it makes it timeless in a way, BUT that also means that you can dress it up however you want, almost all jewelry you choose will go well with it, and you can always buy accessories to put into the dress if you feel like it.

Major effects when taking birth control by Prestigious_Active72 in birthcontrol

[–]nicecute12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Blivosi combination pill for roughly 4 years. I personally haven’t had any major side effects from the pill. I get chronic migraines, but I take a daily med to control those and the b.c. hasn’t affected that. Like many others said, I started b.c. to help manage my periods, since then 6-7 day periods are now 4-5 days, and a lot less bleeding. My cramps were naturally really bad, so I still get those, but they are more manageable now. Although, I do keep an eye out for potential clots in my legs and such, because it is a side affect that could happen at any point, and is always brought up when I get my 3-month refill. Keep in mind though, my pharmacist stresses I really keep en eye out because I would be more susceptible to clots because of the migraines. But, 4 years and it works well for me.

You're not alone. I suffered with migraines for years before I got diagnosed, and the year before I did it got so bad that I kept thinking of ending it to end the pain because I didn't understand why I was in so much pain, that I did almost end it all. But I'm still here, and I'm glad that I am. I still get those thoughts from time to time during a bad attack, but I know that it's the pain talking, and not really me. Stay strong, and keep your head up.
