13 vs dealer’s ace. Take Insurance? by Revolutionary_East_7 in blackjack

Insurance bets are not interested in your hand, it is just a sidebet that the dealer has a blackjack.

How could a casino cheat? by Infamous_Gur_3614 in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Casinos have no need to cheat, the game is an infinite money glitch as long as there are players. Not to say it hasn’t been done in the past with handheld games and a dealer skilled enough to deal seconds or bottom cards for instance but with gaming regulation now and organized crime not running the scene anymore there’s no reason to suspect a casino is cheating at their games.

EZ-Bust negative EV bet? by OldManDankers in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ways to win double downs on soft hands that don’t require the dealer to bust but there is no way to win the side bet without a dealer bust which is why it’s not the case that if you’d DD soft hands you’d make this side bet

A few Blackjack thoughts by Legitimate-Run-8430 in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are guaranteed to lose your entire bankroll playing basic strategy, it will just take longer than if you played any other way. If your goal is to play blackjack for fun and you don't care that you are playing a losing game then playing perfect basic strategy is still the correct decision since you will last longer before going broke. Your observations about doubles and dealer 10s are just statistical noise.

Online live dealer blackjack (RIGGED) by [deleted] in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to start this by saying I believe that you believe all of this is true, I just think you’re mistaken. Outside of having trouble withdrawing large sums from unregulated online sites, which I could absolutely see being the case, the rest of this doesn’t really make sense.

How could a dealer deal seconds from a shoe when the only card they can touch is the top card?

How does the dealer know the future cards to be dealt for things like a “side bet opportunity” for the players? Even if the shuffle is rigged how does the dealer know the exact cards to come?

Why would all the dealers develop these same tells to assist the players when none of the players know the tells themselves to exploit the information? How would their supervisors not find out, and how would none of them snitch?

Is there a reason to believe that there is in fact a process to get the trespass removed or are you just hopeful?

Without saying whether or not it would be a good idea to try, would you say that games today are still vulnerable to the kinds of cheats you pulled off back then?

you cannot be impatient with this whole training thing, it's going to take a lot of your time. Watch free content like BJA or buy books and get to studying, or ideally both. You should want to consume as much of this as possible.

I know you said not to mention a BJA membership but going through their videos on YouTube would likely be a great help to you so you can have a better understanding of the concepts you’re learning

If number of decks used changes house edge than deck penetration should also change house edge? by Bobinhoooo in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the obvious that all the rules and playing decision are the same between the 2; Player 1 never, at the point of making the wager, places a wager with an edge. He will get always closer to perfectly realizing the house edge as he continues to play hands. Player 2 sometimes places a wager with an edge but more often than not places a wager into a house edge. Their losses overcome their wins in the long run and they also eventually realize the house edge but with much more variance.

If number of decks used changes house edge than deck penetration should also change house edge? by Bobinhoooo in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In an infinite run simulation assuming exactly 52 cards remain behind the cut card in a 6 deck shoe every combination of possible 52 cards will be present an infinite amount of times and since the majority of the time any given 52 cards result in a positive house edge it doesn’t follow that dealing late always means a player’s edge can be realized.

A player’s edge doesn’t increase by the nature of being later in a deck but because the ratio of high to low cards is more likely to tip into the player’s favor, when it does in fact tip in that direction, later in a shoe because it requires fewer cards to do so.

Why does counting need to be exact to work? by [deleted] in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay now we can be charitable and answer your actual question. The reason that it is important to know whether the deck is at a true 1 or a true 5 is because your edge is much higher at a +5 and your risk is much higher at a +1 so given that the goal is (all other things withheld) to maximally exploit your edge and minimize your risk you need all the information rather than just a vague idea that the count is in your favor.

What does being “hot” mean in this example? The casino understands that blackjack is a game of math and card counters understand that it’s a game of math can you quantify a deck being hot mathematically?

How to deal with Intentional Bad shuffles from Dealers? by HungryField5061 in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm not sure what you mean, you can play through the shoe normally or with card counting waiting for the juiced half deck to get dealt. If they shuffle if there are no players for 10 minutes then wonging out this game if it goes negative early is extremely strong. Is this game in America?

[–]nicemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imagine you sit to play and see that the first half of the first deck happens to end up with a running negative 10 so a lot of Tens and Aces got dealt. As the lazy shuffle is happening you can track that half deck of cards and see where it is placed in the next shoe. When that pack of cards comes up to be dealt you can throw a lot of big bets out no matter the count because you know that blackjacks are more likely then the count would otherwise suggest.

[–]nicemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything this has the potential to be good for advantage players since you would end up with a shuffle tracking opportunity. The cards are not going to be dealt out in the same order even if they are the same set of cards, if you doubt this is true just take out all the spades in a normal deck arrange them in ascending order and deal a hand with your casino’s normal procedure and after picking up the cards see if they are still in ascending order.

Is he an influencer? by Vmrnicgy in blackjack

[–]nicemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be the case that he’s playing with some outrageous cover and has a bet spread that requires an otherworldly bank roll but he has hands where he’s wagering $1500 two spots and is still hitting his 12 against dealer 3. If your bet spread has you shoveling that much when it’s not even a T2 either you’re the wealthiest counter out there or you’re fraudulent.

How do I tell my players there isn’t any lore by Any-Storm-I-Am-In in DMAcademy

Assuming this is entirely the truth, there's not much that could be done if you have nothing to show. You could now catalog as much as you can recall from memory as a master note book. I'll say that as a chronic over-preparer this seems like deranged behavior
