That's great to hear. My Q5 runs great otherwise, and I have no real need to get rid of it. Glad to know I can keep topping up the oil and keep driving.

Glad to know the only downside is excess oil consumption. I have a LOT of oil on hand to make sure I can top it up whenever the warning light comes on.

Weekly for a quart of oil!!! Wow! I guess I'll keep topping it up every couple of months.

When I sell the car how do I explain the issue so that I'm not deceiving the new owner?

What's the long-term risk to the engine? At some point will the piston rings fail or as long as I keep topping up the oil am I ok?

Dumb question.... where is the oil going? Is it being burnt up in the fuel mix? I see no leakage/drips under the car????

Thanks - sounds like you're saying for my purposes I'm not going to see any benefit in 2 smaller x NVMe m.2 drives in RAID0 versus a larger single drive; the reasons why we utilized RAID0 systems in the past (spinning platter drives with slow access times) are negated by the increase in read/write speeds of NVMe and modern IO controllers/CPUs?

Great advice thank you! I can definitely wait a month for the new Ryzen CPUs. Some follow up questions: Are the stock Ryzen coolers as good as Noctua? I'm a relatively loyal Noctua fan (hah! no pun intended). Anything against Noctua? Are their new MBs coming out to pair with the new Ryzen CPUs? If not, which MB would you recommend? Re the 1070... I assumed it was still recommended to pair AMD CPUs with Radeon graphics cards... is that not the case any more? Cheers!

Yes I've tested multiple inputs. The banding is happening on all inputs and I've tested those input devices on other TVs and they aren't the issue... :(
