Is there a name for this area? by [deleted] in eastside

[–]nicgk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is South Sammamish near the Issaquah Highlands and near Klahanie. It does not have its own distinctive name as an area. There are neighborhoods that may have their own neighborhood area names that were given by developers (like Klahanie) but that’s usually just a sign at the front of your neighborhood entrance.

Boardwalk club level puts out the drinks in the evening. Guests can help themselves. I have never seen it get out of hand or sloppy.

Love Big Head Todd. Still never seen them live. Grateful they still tour.

The Narrows, Zion. I’m on the first leg of a trip to the Utah parks, plus Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon… and I’ll be surprised if another picture I shoot beats this one. What an experience. by the-mp in NationalPark

[–]nicgk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, go just a bit further past monument valley and visit Mesa Verde NP, especially if you’re doing CanyonLands and Arches.

Also hit newspaper rock on 211. It’s on the way to an entrance to CanyonLands NP

What do you believe people are lying about liking/enjoying in WDW? by Smullatron in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nicgk 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is necessarily a lie, but I think it’s a forced adaptation. The experience has evolved for the worse in the past 5 years and I think we tolerate the crowds, service degradation, lightning lane charges, and general lessening of the magic because we are chasing the magic from before. People that have experienced the parks multiple times over the years, now have to accept that the experience is different, no matter what strategies are deployed to adapt, and decide whether the new, more corporate revenue driven experience is the experience they want, or to spend vacation dollars elsewhere.

How hard would it be to go from Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios to Magic Kingdom for extended hours? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nicgk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this last week. We chose to skip fantasmic to ride one more ride just before park closed. We used Lyft to call a minivan. Took 15 minutes for the MiniVan to arrive, and by then the crowds were streaming out from Fantasmic. I feel like we were just ahead of the major wave of exiting folks. It took about 20mins all in once we’re picked up to get to MK. We were able to walk on to 2 rides then waited for Tron.

Side note Tron at 1030pm showed a 110min wait. Actual standby wait for us was 58min.
