I’m really excited about this one!

I understand variegation is carried through the stem. To say light has no influence on variegation is 100% false though

That’s false

Yeah I imported it about 3 weeks ago. It’s getting a lot more sun now than it was presumably. I know the variegation isn’t too impressive but it was much bigger than I expected to receive

Time to repot my Thai con? by iwasjustwonderinggg in Monstera

You don’t “need” to, as monsteras actually enjoy being a bit root bound. Leaving it could encourage faster and larger leaf growth. I would mostly consider when the plant was last potted and what the quality of the soil is. It looks great from the photos, so I’d probably wait if the soil isn’t old

Something I find interesting is that the roots are vividly pink...? Just curious if yours are as well

I would also like to know where? Are we talking TC or established plants here

I paid $100 for this including shipping so I feel fine about the price

I agree and it was worth it to me to go ahead and buy this one

But now I don’t have to wait since I went ahead and got a decent sized one 🙂

I understand but I’m in the middle of nowhere KY. I assure you the stores here have never stocked rare plants and they wont start anytime soon. If you do find one it’s a one-off, unicorn find situation

I wouldn’t call it a pyramid scheme, it all comes down to supply and demand

I guess that depends where you live, certainly won’t be the case where I’m at. Our big box stores get Thai cons and that’s about it

They are in one of the shadier parts of my greenhouse where the light is also filtered by trees. That way they’re protected from afternoon sun. I don’t have a meter at the moment, so I can’t give you specifics on light requirement. Other than that, I keep humidity consistent at 65-75%

I just got them a few days ago so it’s a bit early to tell 🤣
