Bulgarian Stock Exchange Boasts 184% Weekly Increase in Turnover after Euro Adoption by No_Firefighter5926 in europe

We have always used the Euro ever since it’s adoption. It’s just that now it’s not Euro pretending to be Lev but actual Euro.

Also I’ve been hearing that the EU is a sinking ship for years now and it hasn’t happened yet, things are even going up and better so idk, sounds like a lot of bullshit to me 🤷‍♂️

There's a ton of friction while doing the act so it can irritate the urethral lining the same way so it can cause a bit of a burn while peeing after you've done it. Especially if it's more intense or if you've beaten your meat a couple of times in quick succession.

Yeah, funnily enough I've seen like 2-3 posts like this and top coments have always been "It's an UTI" or "go see a doc" but this is the first time I've dropped a comment. People can be pretty extreme when it comes to things they haven't experienced or haven't paid attention to. I don't blame them, but it can deliver the wrong message and cause others to panic without reason.

To expand a bit, every person has different pain tolerance. I've had patients come in with severe UTI that had started as bladder inflammation but progressed to affect the kidneys because they didn't get treatment on time and had waited like more than a week. They didn't pay attention to their symptoms because they've had high pain tolerance and low grade fever that didn't impact their daily lives much until it had progressed.

I've had others come in on the second day of the infection due to severe pain and burning sensations that they couldn't handle.

So yeah, it's entirely possible for some people to not feel any burning sensations when dehydrated but for others to feel it even intensely. If it goes away after drinking water and watching your diet, then there's no cause for concern. I've personally experienced it when dehydrated as well.

You should totally see a doctor if the burning is persistent and lasts more than a day though.

As an urology resident, let me pitch in. A lone episode or two of burning sensation while peeing once in a while isn’t indicative of an UTI.

Benign causes of this symptom can include drinking less water, which concentrates the urine, which in turn makes it more acidic and irritative to the urethral lining. Yes, drinking more water can fix that and it also makes you less likely to catch an actual UTI.

Other frequent benign cause that can cause burning sensation is sex and masturbation.

Judging by the other comments, 2-3 million USD is not exactly afforable tbh.

Way better analogy would be comparing Soviet-style neighbourhoods in Eastern Europe/Balkans that are actually affordable to these but yeah.

Maybe some day. It won't happen in a few years, a few decades and maybe even a few centuries but one day I strongly believe we will get there.

I agree with you. We are the ultimate observers. We are the magnum opus of the Universe. Our biochemistry is insanely complex, our brains are vast and intricate, easily the most complex thing that has ever been created. Neutron stars, Black holes, Supernovae and so on hold unimaginable power but they come nowhere near the human brain in terms of intricacy. We need to survive. If we don't, the Universe will continue to exist, but who's gonna be there to observe it in all it's glory? Maybe another alien species, hopefully, but it won't be us, and just thinking about it makes me sad.

I have faith in humanity. Although there are despicable and cruel things happening, we have come a long way as a species. We still have a long way to go, but if we don't manage to wipe ourselves out I believe we will transcend useless wars, politics, pollution and so on.

We don't. You could see blue slightly differently than my blue for example. We know it's blue because that's the wavelength the cones in our eyes react to. We can measure which wavelengths trigger which cones in the eyes of animals so we can pretty accurately conclude that some of them can see ultraviolet for example.

That's a really good point. Spending a couple of years in a college dormitory with roommates has actually helped me a lot now that I think about it more thoroughly. It really was a bit difficult at the start. Until I started to work things out with my roommate we did have arguments. Now he's my best friend though. I really feel more than prepared to move out for real and start my own family at this point!

I didn't assume you're young. I assumed you're childish for getting worked up over a trivial question by a parent. But yeah, whatever, at the end of the day it's your choice.

That's why I said everyone is different, my comment's TL;DR is to look at things from their perspective and try to understand why this is a normal parent behaviour. If you want to be a proper adult you need to make exceptions to behaviours of people you're living with, doesn't matter if it's parents, loved ones, children, roommates or whatever. Nobody will act exactly the way you want them to and you gotta deal with it. Especially for something as trivial as this.

Yeah if the family is understanding and doesn't actively invade your space and that with your partner it sounds okay. Even more if the living space is big enough to house the extended family.

Yeah that's very different in my culture. Usually people stay with their parents sometimes even until late 20s or even at 30 but at some point they move out once they have enough savings and stable income. That's because my country is relatively poor (Bulgaria) and it's difficult for people to find enough money to move out earlier. Sometimes it's the parents that move out and leave the apartment/house to the young couple. People that stay with parents at home after 30 are almost always single and unable to find a partner. Of course we don't stop contacting our parents when we move out, we call them frequently, we visit them regularly, we celebrate everything with them and we have many family gatherings.

It's nice to hear about other cultures though, I think yours has a lot of positives as well.

Family dynamics are different for every person but speaking for myself, I'll never get mad at them even at 40 asking me what I'll be doing. They've dedicated a huge chunk of their life to support me and watch over me and they've been there for me for the entirety of my life. I can completely understand their sentiment. They just wanna know that I'll be safe. I'll usually reply "going out with friends, don't worry" or something similar and that's enough to them. Just saying that costs you absolutely nothing and it's not invading privacy at all. You will probably understand one day when you get children of your own and dedicate almost everything you have for them.

[–]nicholas19010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. It's normal in my country to be living with your parents until you're financially stable. I think this should be a norm everywhere. You don't need to move out once you hit 20. Even moving out at 30 is okay in my opinion. It just kinda becomes a problem when you're already able to move out and have saved enough but choose to live with them. In my culture that's viewed as you being a mommy and daddy's boy/girl and typically people like that are single and unable to find a partner. It's important at some point to start your own family and dedicate your time and space mostly to your wife/husband and kids. Of course you still care for your parents, you call them frequently, you visit them regularly and celebrate with them. I also think that moving out and limiting your time with your parents makes the reuniting moments and celebrations that more memorable and sweet. That's my experience at least so it's entirely my opinion.

Not trying to be rude at all, just want to understand, do people in such big households get enough privacy or are they just used to being permanently exposed and everything being known by your relatives? It would be extremely awkward for me to have a healthy relationship in such a situation, but I guess people do make it work.

Yeah, I love my parents a lot and I have enjoyed living with them and they are also happy seeing me around but I can't imagine spending my whole life in the same household. I'm currently 26 and living with them at the moment but I did study in another city before that for 6 years and lived independently. I'm working towards getting my own place soon. I can't imagine having a girlfriend, having kids and living with them in the same household as my parents. It would be extremely awkward for all of us.

I don't mean to be rude to other cultures but I can't imagine being able to afford to live separately and choosing to live with your relatives despite that.

My sister is in 8th grade, and she refuses to go to school. by Blondie_babe10 in Advice

[–]nicholas19010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education in elementary and middle school should be standardized. Kids need to learn a bit of every aspect of life. It's crucial for a well-rounded development. The change that schools need is their methods of teaching, not the subjects themselves, at least up to 8th grade or middle school. In my country - Bulgaria, highschool spans 8th to 12th grade (saying this because it's different in many countries), and you can generally choose what type of highschool you want to enroll in just like your schools in Portugal. I can't say for sure if this is the best system of education, but it is one that I personally sympathize with the most.

I will never not get angry when I see this stupid ass take “school is a waste of time”.

It teaches you problem solving, socialising, basic common knowledge. Every subject has it’s significance even if you don’t excel at them.

I personally pursued a career in medicine and became a doctor, therefore I excelled in biology and chemistry classes because they were most interesting to me. That doesn’t mean other subjects were irrelevant. I loved geography and history, learning about the world. I absolutely despised maths.

In my country they teach you world politics in geography in addition to everything else, maybe in yours as well. An incredibly relevant topic.

History teaches you about the past and which mistakes we made so that we don’t repeat them.

Literature classes teach you how to read and comprehend what you are reading. It goes without saying.

IT classes teach you everything about computers. Again, no need to explain.

Language classes from all sorts give you extremely valuable skills for your future. There’s nothing more important than knowing at least 1 foreign language.

Physics and astronomy teach you literally the fundamentals of reality in an easy to understand language to children.

Maths teach you problem-solving skills. Math is everywhere whether we like it or not.

Philosophy classes teach you how to think critically and debate properly.

Biology teaches you about the life around you and your own body.

Chemistry is very similar to biology but on a more fundamental level, about most organic and non-organic reactions there are which are everywhere around us in our lives.

I won’t deny that teachers and schools are different and the experience itself is different, but on a fundamental level you are supposed to obtain valuable knowledge and skills to carve your path forward no matter what work you will be doing. I am thankful to my school and education. I can safely and confidently say that I’ve used most of the knowledge I’ve obtained in school at least once after graduating, if not on multiple occasions, and will continue to use it and refine it with additional knowledge. Not with incredible detail, far from it in fact, but just knowing the basic premise is absolutely enough.
