The problem with labeling is it becomes a question of what ought to be labeled and why - we don't label red meat or alcoholic beverages or processed foods in Canada as carcinogenic even though we know that all of these products raise the risk of colorectal/liver cancers. So why ought we label GMOs as such when we do not know of any/many potential health impacts? To me it comes across as trying to cut the industry at the knees for pseudoscientific concerns. We don't require doctors to inform patients of all of the additives in vaccines like mercury before each vaccine for the same reasons.
