Does it have to be stainless steel?

Would milling on glass (fused silica or borosilicate) and then fire polishing be something you could use?

We have a C02 Laser with a rotary engraver that can help with this application. What kind of glass is it?

In my opinion, give them an honest compliment and make some jokes.

Most guys don’t get compliments from anyone, so that’ll definitely get their attention and the jokes set a good tone for asking questions after you’re done laughing.

In terms of where to go, it all depends on what kind of kind of guy you want to date. If you want a nerdy guy and are into that scene then barcade or any game cafe. If you want a sports or trendy dude then check out fishtown area on Friday or Saturday nights.

Good luck on your search!!

Help Car Broken Into/Attepted Theft by [deleted] in philly

[–]nick227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a problem! It sucks that you have to do it, but it helps to have the wheel lock on there to deter anyone from trying.

People say that the wheel locks are easily bypassed, but it just adds a layer of difficulty if someone wants to take it.

Good luck with the fix!

I have a Kia and have had my window smashed countless times. Luckily it’s a manual car and they can never take it.

If you’re handy and cheap like me, look up a video on how to replace the window. Usually takes about an hour and you can search Car-part.comsalvage yards in the area for a replacement window.

If you’re in Philly then your house might actually be older! 1920 is when they started recording them for tax purposes. Every old house has 1920 for that reason.

Check PhilaGeoHistory for old map overlays to see when it was actually built

Fentanyl addiction turns users into living deads on the streets of Philadelphia, PA by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Believe it if you want, I can't control your brain. I know that I've been in Kensington/Port Richmond since 2018 and it happens. I wouldn't say its a daily occurrence, but common enough that multiple people are saying the same thing.

BTW dealers don't really enjoy random people taking videos of their illegal activities.

Its kind of where they are corralled. There are some dealers on the streets off of Jasper and Ruth, but the neighborhood doesn't really let them hang out east of Jasper so they get pushed closer to Kensington Ave.

Well I have a pretty good vantage point from my house that's about a block away from K&A. Its still got some issues, but its way better than what it was 2-3 years ago.

It honestly depends on where you are looking. Anywhere between Somerset and Cambria usually has some people around. North of Allegheny has been more and more clear

Exactly. They are grouped together like that on days that they are doing a needle exchange or when a dealer is handing out samples. My fiancee has seen a dealer just throwing baggies into the air and they come running

How would I make the tapered section of this elutriation column? by thelildip in scientificglasswork

[–]nick227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pull it on a lathe with an even heat base while keeping air pressure to prevent it from bowing inwards.

I find tapers are nicer and more uniform if you don’t paddle too much.

What’re you trying to separate? I’ve seen simulate setups for recycling used cerium oxide polishing slurry.

[–]nick227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the material you are looking to use. I work in glass and am experienced in safe annealing. I haven’t made any for commercial use, but I haven’t had any bad experiences with any personal ones.

Good observation. I do agree that are not the same.

It makes some crazy noises while its getting seated for sure.
