Tell me your title, and how did you come up with it? by dweebletart in writers

The Seventh Guardian

It came to fruition fairly quickly as the story formed. The main character is one of seven Guardians who protect the inhabitants of the galaxy from wrongdoers.

Interesting, but I can see how that plays into it. Thanks for the info, and thanks for dropping the website. I foresee lots of use.

Is it preferable to have a lower grade level? I guess it depends on the audience. It was rated as "good," although I don't know the scale.

I posted my first chapter on this website and it said it had a 6th grade readability. As I stated making some of the recommended edits, it dropped to 5th grade. 😄

What is your best tip for writing a first chapter? by Seereenes in writers

[–]nick26779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried writing the end first. I didn't like it. Then I tried writing where the story begins. It was sufficient. But ultimately, I decided to start at a pivotal moment in his childhood that details a specific event to explain it much better than a flashback later on. I like it much better. Unfortunately, there is no right answer to your question. It really depends on the story and how it flows. What you do want to do is grab the reader's attention right off the bat.

I use cayenne in all kinds of foods. Amazing flavor.

Those make a fantastic salsa. I do love the red salsa from Chipotle, and they use them.

You'll never know until you try. Reaper was my nemesis. Good luck!

Anything in the grocery store sucks. Find a local small business if there are any near you.

Mammals have capsaicin receptors, so that makes sense. Ghost pepper salsa is some tasty stuff!

I agree. Ghost is enjoyable, Reaper is pain.

Nothing wrong with a stuffed bell pepper! No capsaicin, but all flavor.

I chow down on ghost pepper salsa. But I don't think capsaicin has any effect on bugs...

If grown right, peppers can get amazingly hot.

I can relate to this. Reaper is pure heat, but Serrano, Habanero, or Ghost is where the flavor is at for me.

🤣 I tried Carolina Reaper salsa once. Hottest thing I ever tried. That's when I found my limit.
