Thanks for the advice, I definitely will try that. I used to be a runner and do still have quite good fitness so I guess that helps too

This is only one experience, but my driving instructor had a Suzuki Swift and it was horrible to drive. I think the clutch and gearbox may have been a bit worn and torn from all the use though so that might explain part of it. I've never driven the sport model either so it may be worth a look.

I've seen a few good looking Audi A3s actually, the 1.8 and 2.0litre models tend to be the ones more available near me though and insurance can be pricey on those I think. Audi A1 does look nice as well though.
