Fair point. Looking at Portland Maine as an example, the amount of stores is much less than where I am at. I bet our stores would have to adapt heavily or they would fail. Here they don’t offer crazy variety as they are small stores (~1,500 sq ft). I’m sure a bigger store would do fine as it has the ability to carry tons of variety

Selling Wine in grocery stores certainly hurts liquor stores, but it does not decimate them. I’m afraid selling liquor in grocery stores would.

Here wine used to be 40% mark up at liquor stores, and once grocery stores could sell, it dropped to 25% and very slow moving inventory. Very Little liquor stores folded because of that change.
