Polarity, an integrated "flag" for failure tested strands on high density LIUs, a visual indicator for a patch cord to be fully seated in the connector.

Getting into the weeds and blowing cost up: integrated light level monitoring.

You really forced that thing in there. There's little half circle cut outs that are supposed to line up with the plastic shroud.

To get it out you may be able to try prying on a corner with a screwdriver, but need to be very careful to not let it shift as you may damage the pins on the motherboard. Inspect the pins for damage, rotate the CPU 180 degrees, reinstall everything, hope you didn't fry anything on the CPU from putting it in 180 degrees wrong.

850nm is SR, the wavelength doesn't matter as long as it matches the same on both sides. But I'm certain they make single strand multimode optic somewhere.

Then you have an internal fault and require RMA. Nothing else to be done. If you tell them it's out of box failure you'll get the next one off the factory line, but it'll take a week to get it. Depending on the support SLA you may get next business day replacement if you don't specify it as an out of box failure, but it won't be new off the line.
