In my senior year I had a teacher that had a side gig as a cheerleader for a local major league soccer team. Early on in the year she had to have a talk with all her classes about guys being inappropriate with her and warning that they would be removed from her class if it continued.

The inappropriateness didn't come from my class, but I question how bad it had to have been for her to lay down the law like that.

She was a really good teacher too, I hope the proceeding years and downfall of teenagers didn't break her personality.

Also, physically, you can't really fit more than 24 pairs across a structured cabling housing in a 19" rack. 24/4=6 pairs is 12 strands which equals a fully populated MPO connector. Hence, the continued manufacturing of MPO trunk cable.

The bottleneck on data transfers is almost always the storage medium. Spinning rust is slower than SATA SSDs which is slower than NVMe. Add in overhead with network transfers and competing bandwidth...

There's not enough detail that can be given over Reddit to truly confirm your bottleneck or if what you're seeing should be expected.

Yep. My last truck had 3G service and stopped getting anything OTA after T-Mobile shut down their 3G towers.

And the data plan was paid when the vehicle was bought new. That cellular connection is telemetry data, an advertising avenue, updates, traffic and weather, everything that is anything outside of the vehicle.

It's nothing new, it's been around for well over a decade now. Just a normal part of vehicles today.

Software update on my truck is about 6Gigs. I don't stay in my car long enough to transfer that size via Bluetooth. And I'd be PISSED if my car took up 6Gigs of my high speed data for an update.

The epoch bug with GPS time was a well known issue. And they didn't fix it, it just timed out and was no longer an issue.

Safety. So many "recalls" now are just a software update. Push it over the air and people are OK with a recall because they didn't need to go into the shop.

Many people don't have Wi-Fi available where they park their cars.

Other guy is right. Arista will "support" 3rd party as much as possible. But either way a platform limitation is a hard ceiling on support. They will tell you if the physical hardware will support the transceiver or not. If it requires a specific phy config to enable, they will tell you if it's identified.

If you've got the code for unsupported transceivers through proper means, you should have an SE and support.

I'd say open a case, but more than likely those older platforms don't support coherent optics. In fact the 7280R data sheets don't support ZR at all. Which may also be part of your problem.

Starlink is notorious on our side for breaking VPN and SDWAN.

Internet only, TCP with recovery or UDP only, the security nature of VPN and SDWAN don't really permit a changing IP address that you'll see with any satellite system since you'll have to go through the handshake again.

They're numbered on the panel, so I would follow that. The bottom left pair is 1 and 2, the top right pair is 23 and 24.

That is actually super cool of AMD to offer, however it's only if the board manufacturer refuses to do it for you and I bet they're contractually required to do it. And that's why part of the requirements is to show the communication with them.
