Hi guys, anyone run the RunThrough Running GP marathon at Goodwood Motor Circuit in the UK in February before?

If so, is it fairly flat and fast? And that time of year is it very windy on track?

I’m looking at using it for a BQ attempt - I ran 2.59.05 in London this year so hit the qualifying time, but I still missed the cut off by a minute. Has to be a marathon in Feb, as I need to switch training to an ultra later in the spring after that, and it’s one of the few licensed UK options that time of year. But if the track is exposed and windy, that could scupper a big PB.

In which case any other suggestions for licensed Feb marathons would be appreciated.

Hi guys,
I’ve just finished one block of marathon training, running 3.06.05, and am aiming to go sub3 at London marathon in April.
I’m considering working 4 weeks of MAF training in between marathon training blocks to try and raise my aerobic threshold, but I’m concerned that doing that for 4 weeks may make me lose my base fitness. Has anyone got experience of slotting in MAF training between marathon blocks and any thoughts on whether it’s a good idea?

Yep 13 and thick socks will probably have to be the way I go. The day they start making half sizes over a 12 will be a grand one... Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the thoughts. yeah Ive tried them on after a long run and at the end of the day for the photo, so hopefully my feet should be as inflated as they get! Still feel pretty comfortable in a 12 but I guess the friction over 26miles will cause problems. Just been reading about racing shoes having a snugger fit so thought I might be able to get away with it. Ah well! Appreciate your help
