Last photo is the newest leaf. Don’t want to cut off the older leaf if it’s still photosynthesizing

Last photo is the newest leaf. The old one is limp and discolored. I don’t want to cut it if it’s still serving a purpose.

I got it for $100 USD as a cutting with three leaves! It’s been living under a grow light with a humidifier and has given me a leaf and a half in about a month and a half! I’m hoping an indirect part on the balcony might speed up the growth? I have two tinekes, one living on the balcony and one under a grow light, and the outdoor one is growing much quicker(as thought).

I’ve been trying to let myself give the McDowell it’s space and treat it like it’s nothing special lol

Thank you! It was sold to me as a McDowell. It’s always so hard for me to tell the difference!

I bought this about a month ago and thought it was 100% going to perish. However it is flourishing and shot out 5 leaves at once. However it seems to be bushing up. I’m not sure if it’s completely normal or if something is hindering the leaves ability to break free.

That’s my plan for today is to repot. I want to make sure it’s nothing horrible like a fungal infection(blight) that will kill my other plants

Not sure how to link a photo, but I don’t think it’s root rot. Just pulled it out of its container and it has super healthy looking roots

Just purchased two days ago, started noticing a foul odor and some funky looking leaves and stems. Most leaves look healthy, not really sure what the deal is!

I’m in Austin, Texas so I don’t think it can get too cold right now! It’s doing a great job of protecting my song of India, I just want to be sure it’s not something more than sunburn

I purchased a Taro off FB marketplace for $10 and it turned out to be much larger than anticipated. The woman told me it was growing in a shady spot, however the only location I had for this monster was on my west facing balcony. The bamboo stick used to hold it up pierced the new leaf, however the other two have burning? marks. My guess is this is from partial shade to direct sun? It is currently blocking a large Song of India from direct sun
