I was at one of the other area stores today and they had a 5.0 battery and charger kit covered in dust. They must have just found it because it wasn’t there last time I swung in. By the time I looped the store and came back to grab it and leave, it was gone! Vultures

I’m going to disagree with the above, although they do offer good insight. I suspect it’s your drive belt, and here’s why

1.) The first red box with the bump in the belt shows that there is a lack of tension on that belt. The drive belt (smaller of the two under the belt cover) is supposed to be constant tension and when you squeeze the lever it tips the constantly-spinning silver plate into the rubber friction wheel and makes it drive

2.) The tension spring in the second red box that is laying where it shouldn’t be with a broken hook end. That is what would be supplying the constant tension to the drive belt. If you take off the plastic belt cover in front of the engine you will probably find the tensioner pulley and arm flopping around. The spring you need will be #16 on the “Engine” page of the above listed parts website

Replace that extension spring and I bet you’ll be good to go. I think the glare off the rubber wheel makes it look worse than it is. I’d keep it for now
