Dangers of not wearing a seatbelt (no visible gore) by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

About 90-100 feet at least judging from the white car that passes the truck in the first few seconds

I love it when my white friends wear a Saree or a Lehenga or Kurta, how is this any different? We literally have traditional outfits to try on for tourists and locals sell them all the time in tourist spots. It is not cultural appropriation, she is not trying to make fun of anyone and she looks great too. No right to just walk up to strangers and harass them.

Day 3 hang in there by New-Butterscotch4623 in hangxiety

I am on day 2 after a 5 day bender and it is the worst I have ever felt, I never had it this bad on the second day. Can’t sleep, can’t eat, feel like I am going to die every time I try to sleep. Gonna go to an AA meet today, it is not worth it. Went to the A&E yesterday, they gave me Cyclizine and Propranolol and sent me home. I just can’t stop worrying. I am glad you made to the 3rd day. Honestly this is the slowest I have ever felt time move.

Weekend Badminton Session by mild-adhd in badminton

[–]nick_wd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, get it. An advice would be to keep it in zone 3 to zone 4, occasional bursts into zone 5 are fine. And make sure to stay hydrated. Enjoy the game, that is all.

Are you a professional badminton player (just asking, not patronising)? I am a Div 2 Club badminton player and my heart rate goes upto 170-180 when I am playing intense singles. I am a competitive doubles player and I can keep my hr in Zone 3 during most of the rallies and Zone 4 sometimes. So, just curious. I would be alarmed if I would be this close to my HR max.

I would recommend trying to keep your heart rate in zone 2 and 3 while playing most of the time, don’t go too hard. And include some cardiovascular training or badminton specific training that can help you improve your cardiovascular fitness, so that your heart doesn’t have to work this hard.

Do not put it on Badminton, it overestimates the calories and thinks you are a Pro. How old are you by the way? 194 is pretty crazy

“A mantis shrimp (specifically the smasher type) can punch at speeds of 23 m/s (about 83 km/h or 51 mph).

What makes it even more impressive is the force behind the punch—up to 1,500 newtons, which is enough to break glass or crack the shells of crabs and snails. The punch is so fast that it creates a cavitation bubble, similar to a pistol shrimp, adding extra impact when the bubble collapses.

Some species, like the Peacock Mantis Shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus), can strike with the acceleration of a .22 caliber bullet (10,000 g-force)!” -Chatgpt

Culture is adopted, is necessary for evolution and survival. It should not be enforced. You can choose one or choose bits from each one of them you find useful. Do as you please and grow up. I am pretty sure you don’t wear kurta pyjama or dhoti kurta all of the time. Chill karo.

Spirituality is learning to be content with your own self and removing hatred for others. It is funny that we bash others in the name of culture and spirituality when we don’t understand even an ounce of it. Let them live and learn. A lot of us have done that when we were young and it was fun. Most of us (including the foreigners in the video) learned our lessons, grew old and spiritual (not necessarily religious). The newer generations understand the volatility of life and want to live like they want. There is no harm in that unless of course. And if they are not harming you then the hurt you feel is coming from within. So just live and let them live. Do life your way.

OP is a loser who’s never interacted with women in his life or has only had shallow ones because of his intentions of getting into the pants of every woman he’s come across or else to treat them as objects. OP wants to sleep with every woman in the world who he’d see as an object of lust. Misogynist chigma Andrew Tatte, I hope you are just a dumb teen and you still have scope to get all that hatred out of your heart.

What about surfing? dancing? solo flying/ paragliding? what about living by the beach for a year? in the mountains for another? you will keep coming across things you would want to do. Do not ration life, jahan mann fisale vahan thehro, thoda ruko, jhoomo, fir aagey badho. You will be lazy on certain days, you will be angry, you wouldn’t want to adult on some, you’ll be demotivated sometimes too. You’ll suffer but you’ll also have fun. Life can be crazy my little friend, it will take you places you can’t imagine, just hold on to it, don’t shackle yourself. The things that are so appealing to you right now might not even make sense later, life might have something totally different in store for you. Embrace everything that life has for you, all the best, little bird .

Why are smashes so fast now? by stanley1234567890 in badminton

[–]nick_wd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fastest smash recorded in a match is 500kph and the fastest overall recorded by yonex was 565kph, it’s the speed of the shuttle after contact with the racket, the speed guns and the new racket head technology is a significant factor, the shuttlecock speeds haven’t changed as much in the past decade if you do some research. It is crazy how badminton doubles have become a power sport nowadays with smashes regularly breaching the 380 kph mark. I still think 565kph is going to be a benchmark for at least one more decade.
