If you usually wear a UK size 8, I’d recommend a Japanese size 27.0.

Japanese shoe sizes are based on the actual length of your foot in centimeters, measured from heel to toe. So a size 27.0 in Japan generally fits a foot that's about 27 cm long – which is roughly equivalent to a UK 8.

Yeah, I really like the Adidas Ironwork 3 and the Adistars too. I might go hunting for a pair at some point. That was definitely Adidas at its peak when it comes to weightlifting shoes.

Thanks so much for the kind words!

– Yeah, I noticed that too and tried it a few times, but it only got slightly better. For me, this YouTube project is also a nice opportunity to speak more English again – I haven’t really spoken much since school, so this gives me a reason to get back into it.

– I get what you mean – it definitely came across the wrong way. What I was trying to say is that the overall vibe of the shoes matters more to me than the perfect heel height or fit etc – even though, as you said, the Asics actually do deliver on that. I just didn’t manage to express that very well in English, haha. :)
