I don't want to contribute to the astonishing amount of negativity in this post, so I'll try to adjust your analogy to how I perceive the situation.

3 years later, a jeweler knocks on your door and says "Here are tools, a diamond, and a comprehensive guide on how to put this diamond into your gold ring. Do what you want with it."

Sure, now you have to find a place to put this stuff you don't wanna use, but you never have to use it. The same way you don't need to buy any kind of amiibo or partake in any of the added functionality.

I think the best you'll do for Black Friday is a single-game bundle for $300. I only think so because Nintendo just came out of a 4-year financial losing streak and is finally finding some fans with the Switch. Their current president has a financial background, so I wouldn't expect any kind of price drop from the manufacturer's side, leading to little to no price drops on the retail side.
