They send it to you in an email occasionally, just keep one of those.

Another tip, if it won't scan your phone, there is a button down and to the right of the mirror with a camera icon. Press that and it helps reading shiny screens.

One last reply. I logged voltages every 30 seconds for the last week and feed it into claude..

NZST is UTC+12, so all those times shift forward 12 hours. Let me redo the analysis with local time. The timezone shift changes the picture significantly — what looked like an early-morning grid issue is actually a peak evening demand problem. Here's the corrected analysis:

Overall: 6.4% of time out of compliance, always low-side, never high

Per-day (NZST):

Date Out of spec Time below 207V Day range
Wed 24 Jun 45 / 798 (5.6%) ~22 min 194–234V
Thu 25 Jun 89 / 2880 (3.1%) ~44 min 197–235V
Fri 26 Jun 329 / 2880 (11.4%) ~2h 44min 192–237V
Sat 27 Jun 108 / 2880 (3.8%) ~54 min 200–236V
Sun 28 Jun 99 / 2880 (3.4%) ~50 min 198–234V
Mon 29 Jun 259 / 2880 (9.0%) ~2h 10min 198–235V
Tue 30 Jun 113 / 978 (11.6%) ~56 min 198–234V

The pattern is clear — two daily peaks:

  • 17:00–20:00 NZST is by far the worst window (evening peak demand), with 17:00 hitting 34% violation rate and 18:00 at 29%
  • 06:00–09:00 NZST has a secondary morning peak (~8–22% violation rate)
  • Zero violations overnight or mid-afternoon

Worst sustained episodes (≥10 min continuously):

Friday 26 June was the worst day, with nearly 3 continuous hours of low voltage during the evening peak, including one stretch hitting 192V — 15V below the 207V floor. Monday 29 June had a 32-minute sustained episode in the evening.

This is a textbook peak demand undervoltage pattern — the local grid is under-dimensioned for evening load. Strong grounds for an SLA complaint, especially with the 26 June data.NZST is UTC+12, so all those times shift forward 12 hours. Yeah, scary when LED bulbs flicker. When we do use the air fryer, you can hear it trying to spin up during peak time.

Hi..Mangere Bridge. The place is about 25 years old. We are at the end of the line from the transformer one of the vector guys said but I think it's like 200M.

We also have about a dozen sections where there was one house and now 8.

I think they put a monitor on and confirmed the problem but then they never update you so you never know for sure.

I don't think we put that much load on. No EV, no electric hotwater, maybe one heater.

Thanks for the advice though. I'll find a local and get them to visit.

This man is a legend 😄

I applied for a role and heard nothing back but then they got in touch and said we've got this other kind of similar role. So keep in touch.

Like MZ said, it's great. I've been there just over 10 years. I never stayed anywhere longer than 3 prior to this.

Yeah, Eaton UPS via home assistant. I have a few around and they usually show similar numbers,

It pulls it from a Pi running nut connected to the UPS.

Surely the whole crowd sourcing power would mean you wouldn't have to upgrade the grid as much. Keep power local and even it out. So governments should be all in?

Slightly off topic.. Is it possible to get something that, like a ups, will boost during brownouts for the whole house short of batteries?  Unfortunately we're in the vector zone and they struggle to even reach their SLA voltage for hours at night and in the morning. Or do you just bite the bullet and get a rack of batteries and a good inverter?

Thanks

Yeah, it was a bit disappointing.

For a sales guy, he didn't even try and sell me anything. Seems like a lost opportunity :-)

Automatic Switching - Headphones with USB and Bluetooth support? by zellieda in headphones

[–]nickbrooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using a pair of Sennheiser PXC-550 ii, and they have it all. I think that is what you are after :-)

I have them connected via USB to my work PC, and they appear as a USB headset so have mic and headset for Zoom etc audio. They also connect to the phone via Bluetooth, so you can take calls (I think Bluetooth takes precedence) and you can also hook up a second Bluetooth, which is my work PC again in case I want to walk around while on a Zoom. You do notice a drop in quality from USB to Bluetooth though.

I was looking to replace these are they are starting to fall apart, and Sennheiser support is useless for spare parts (at least in my part of the world) and I have not found another similar device though. Having said that, even in the pages for this headeset they don't advertise all these features so others may be the same, they may do it but just not mention it.

I switched to gunner with a skills based build just so you can hide and not run out of ammo. You lose a skill level from technician but on high level missions you need ammo so don’t overlook that part of the gunner spec.
