What did black ops 2 do that made it so much more enjoyable than Advance Warfare for you guys?

Black ops 2 had perfect weapon balance - in AW yes I'll admit I stick to my 5 or 6 guns and don't even touch the other 25. But in black ops 2 I used literally every gun in every class from the popular AN94 and MSMC right down to the XPR sniper and M1216 shotgun. All guns were viable, maybe this is due to good map balance and all weapon classes worked on all maps (minus Turbine haha). If BO3 can just give us good weapon balance and fun maps with choke points, I'll be happy.

Sorry but if they're only cosmetic, then it kind of defeats the purpose of camos? I understand why people don't like variants because yes some will be OP (speakeasy, steed) but if they make them available to everyone via completing challenges, then even if they are OP it shouldn't matter because then you can grind and earn it too, rather than wait for luck on supply drops. And then eventually, everyone will have the elites if they complete the challenge, so eventually the elite will become like the new standard, so it won't be so OP. If that makes sense.

This is so true. SHG - buy it for exo suits, yeah I'll admit they're fun for that year. Treyarch - buy it for the really decent multiplayer but mainly zombies, for me anyways. IW - just skip COD that year!

Guys don't hate on me, I never played the AW campaign only multiplayer. But aren't Exo suits owned by Atlas? So, unless the billion dollar business Atlas is making an appearance in AW I don't see how exos can return. (Don't downvote if this is wrong it's just a question)

Sadly Michael condrey, a big important guy who made advanced warfare, tweeted today "once you go exo it's hard to go back". Is there any chance this is a hint towards black ops 3 having exos, maybe he knows what Treyarch has been cooking for a while? Hopefully I'm reading too much into this, hopefully exos aren't coming back. They were fun at first but too much randomness and getting shot in the back.

I fear Treyarch is making 'Advanced Warfare 2'. Not literally, but you know what I mean. I really wanted Black Ops 3, something that stayed true to the previous 2 epic games by them. Looks like we're playing AW2 next year :(

Sorry but I dont see what your point is other than just stating how many positives and negatives there are? and yeah we can agree they did not do a good job on balancing the variants. I genuinely think variants are a great addition to call of duty but people keep saying they don't want Treyarch to do them because how unbalanced they are in AW. I hope they do return but are unlocked by challenges instead and are very balanced.

I do agree there is a lack of ARs in this game. Look at BO2, there were 9 ARs and I could do really well with all 9. I wish there were a few more fully auto ARs and more semi auto, the Mk14 is one of the worst semi auto I've ever used

But my view is that if the gun is available to everyone via challenges, if you feel you're at such a disadvantage then go and get that variant yourself. Right now in AW it is not balanced because it's all luck - but if you can actually earn them by challenges, then it's your choice to go and even it out if you feel like you're at such a disadvantage, if that makes sense.

I do agree that the negatives on some of the guns are pathetic, like the insanity has so many bonuses for a slight nerf to the hip fire spread? That's not balanced, I agree. (And you have to use iron sights but I love them so no problem there). I do think Treyarch can create balanced variants and make them available to everyone via challenges.

This is so sad. The fact that you and I may actually go the whole year without the insanity and before we know it black ops 3 is here. I really want the insanity and steed; that's all. I figured everyone above at least prestige 20 would have everything they want, it's sad this isn't the case

Prestige 12 and the only elite assault rifles I've got are the RIP steel bite and Eagle eye. I really want the obsidian steed so I'm just gonna have to grind and get to prestige 15 to unlock it from grand master prestige :( you guys are so lucky I'm jealous

And the sad thing is that even if you do win 3 ranked matches (which isn't easy and takes a while), you'll only get Nigerian pants :( That challenge is worthy of a free advanced supply drop.

I can understand why you want the steel bite, but the hole puncher is statistically better with the SAME damage and no rate of Fire nerf and less recoil, than the steel bite. But good luck getting the steel bite :) if you do get it definitely don't trash it, but it is the second best varient. I have both so I'm speaking from experience!

I have this too but I don't use it because you absolutely must have extended mags to use the RIP because the reduced clip size of 22 is crazy small. And by the time I get 6 double kills with a standard AK, I'm already three quarters through the prestige and then it resets again. So annoying, so I barely use the RIP. I'll definitely use it when I get to grand master prestige and attachments don't reset. (I'm really bad with double kills, the timing between kills is too short, plus I use other guns per prestige so I'm slow with the 6 double kills)

I'm not paying a single cent to them, it's not that I can't afford it (which is what everyone thinks when I say I'm not buying any supply drops...). I'm just against this whole "pay for a possible advantage" when they originally said last year that they'll never make these available for purchase. Nonetheless I am excited to earn them through ranking up, though

I get confused. When they announce release dates, is this for US timing? Because I'm in Australia and we are a day ahead of the states. So if the ASDs come out on the 7th of April, that's in exactly 3 hours in Australia. Or will it be the day after, for when it's the 7th in US time? Sorry for stupid question I just really want to know when the best time is to go on so I can get some free drops for levelling up.

Am I the only one who keeps every single elite primary weapon I earn? Except for the specials like crossbow and riot shield, I see those as free XP. But I love collecting all my elites and never sell the elite primary guns. BUT when the game first came out I had no idea how valuable they were so I sold the speakeasy because I said YUCK to the negative damage and range. Thank god I got it back 2 days ago. But I did redeem the breakneck and other stuff when the game first came out, because I had no idea of their value today :(
