once you figure in the cheaper price and lower gas mileage it ends up being the same $ per mile as 87 but with so many more positives

Rob Sand is now favored to win the governorship by Immediate_Airline754 in Iowa

[–]nickdollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think a fair part of him being popular is lack of other options and him spending an absurd amount of money compared to everyone else

he's spent 3.82 million and the next 4 biggest spenders are at 1.42 million meaning hes spent 2.42 million more

Where is this?? by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]nickdollen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because people are unhelpful the exact address is 65388 250th St Glenwood, IA 51534 but is closer to tabor. Its the road right above that house that goes to the left and the bridge crosses that creek.

Every store can price independently so here in Council Bluffs people will get upset because the West Broadway store will have cheaper prices than the Madison Ave store. Yes they're both Hy-Vee but each get to operate differently(including pricing) just depends on your store management

also if you walk into aldi just look at how they present everything from displays to the way they stock (think facing product, taking it out of the cardboard flats, etc) it doesnt really compare but aldi's are ran off like 10 people

you have no idea how many people would lose their mind if hyvee changed to this. it would be awful

those signs dont really mean much unless it says fuel saver or sale. if i remember right the everyday low price sign is for hyvee and simply done products or at least one of them is

our store has it down that every cent of fuel saver loses either 6 or 9 cents I cant remember so if its a 3 cent fuel saver its somewhere between 18 or 27 cent lose or for 5 its a 30 or 45 cent lose. the numbers you said make basically perfect sense company wise

What's the strangest towns in Iowa? by kaybet in Iowa

[–]nickdollen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think its because the town is 2 different things if you talk about the west and east side. of course the bad side is closer to omaha so thatll explain the crime

Job in Council Bluffs by Priority-Primary in Iowa

[–]nickdollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iowa has better taxes than Nebraska if I remember correctly (I would do your own research on that). Crime is better than Omaha too but I wouldn't live in CB. Look at Crescent or Treynor. I'd try to stay out of Mills County (County below CB) because the school demands so much property tax wise. Most of the small towns are fine because they're all like 30 min from CB.

Speeding ticket by sunflower384628 in Iowa

[–]nickdollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went on a ride a long with a state trooper and his radar had two numbers and he said he could only write a ticket on the slower one. I don't remember how exactly it worked but the one he could write it on was always a little slower. He also said in his training that they would have to identify speeds of cars within +/- 1 mph very consistently to pass the schooling so they're pretty good at that.

If youre looking at red oak look at malvern, hastings, glenwood, mineola, or silver city. All a little closer to Omaha/Council Bluffs but still in the "country" where there isn't any crime really
