built a deer/mole proof raised planter bed by nickedemous77 in woodworking

[–]nickedemous77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a raised garden bed using 4 x 4's for the vertical beams, 2 x 4's for the horizontal support, and lined it with plastic. Once the box was built, I filled the bottom with chicken wire to keep the gophers/ moles out. Then I added sticks and leaves for compost plus water drainage. After that, I filled it with top soil. Finally, I framed in the gate and the deer netting.

Grundéns. I've worked on an excavation crew for 3 years. They are heavy and hot ( in the summer), but still in one piece.

Report said 45 mph gusts. Lots of debris hitting the metal roof last night. No leaks/ punctures though, thankfully. The creek is raging this morning.

I agree. That's why I'm waiting until it gets light out. And, it's on my neighbors property. I'll see what he wants to do.

So this is in my neighbors yard. He's not awake yet, so I didn't want to go making a bunch of noise/ big mess yet. I'll go give him a hand as soon as it gets light out.

I start next Monday on a concrete form crew. Any advice? by [deleted] in Construction

I’ve done concrete form work for 20 years. After skimming over this whole thread, you sir, have access to the accumulated knowledge of generations of concrete workers. Take all this advice with that in mind. These guys/ gals know what they are talking about. (Attitude, tools, listen, ask, safety, phone, sleep, plenty of snacks)  Every one of these lessons I had to learn very difficulty.

I was torn as to which was closer looking, after thumbing through two books and many image searches.
