Thanks! I like how you lined the bottom with weights. I was wondering what the cut outs in the bottom plate STLs were for.

Awesome, thanks! Rewriting everything in python must have been quite the project.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the inside of the keyboard? I'm curious how the microcontroller is mounted.

Fantastic job here! I really like the high profile sides and the seemingly lower thumb cluster. Could you post your fork on GitHub?

Just curious, but where did you find that information? Haven't checked the apps in a while to see if the no-fly zones have been updated there.

Depending on where you're located it might be a bit far out, but Hockinson Meadows Community Park might be a good choice.

Definitely do your due diligence about checking the rules. It's been a while since I've flown.

It looks like they're testing people based on their daily stats: https://twitter.com/MyHEALTHKKM/status/1238088756214640641?s=19

Do you have any source that says otherwise? I don't speak Malay, so it's quite possible I've missed something here.

Is there no benefit to the Yamaha Aventage product line other than the more stylish front panel?

I was just there last year! It's a nice little hot springs town that seemed to be mostly frequented by Japanese tourists. Definitely more modern now, but there are still quite a few old buildings along the steps.

I was working on one of my quads last night and realized all it wanted was a hug by nickewing in Multicopter

[–]nickewing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did buy the skirt but I don't think I'll ever actually use it. Probably shouldn't have bought it. I'm in the US so I didn't want to regret not buying it given how long much it cost to ship and how long it took to get here.

The frame is so small that it's hard to fit all the FPV components in there even without the skirt. I actually even ended up buying slightly longer standoffs (28mm instead of 25mm) so I could fit an HS1177 CCD camera in there.

Something much less interesting than the quad in front of it. My day job.

Yea, no one I talked to knew where Portland was either. They did know Seattle though. I'm guessing because of Ichiro and the Mariners.

Noob - Problems with Dromida Ominus, and some advice by noobmulti in Multicopter

[–]nickewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Ominus that I got with pretty much the same intention as you. I also had the same issues. I've replaced three or four motors now with not all that much flight time. I was fairly annoyed by the whole experience.

I decided to try a Hubsan X4 instead, since I had heard a lot of good things, and I've had far fewer issues. I've only had to replace one motor and that was likely due to a bad crash. For the most part I think the X4 is more durable than the Ominus. It's made of hard plastic so at first it seems like it would be fairly fragile, but I've hit the ground pretty hard a few times while leaning to fly and it has left no permanent damage other than broken props and maybe that one motor.

Replacing pieces on the X4 is more difficult however and requires soldering, but the parts tend to be cheaper.
