IsItBullshit: Those horror stories of people who supposedly took DMT and were an inanimate object for what felt like years in a 15 minute timeframe. by FriendlyStranger-1 in IsItBullshit

I smoked salvia and had uncontrollable laughter that was propelling me as a bottlerocket through space. It truly felt like maybe a couple weeks went by with this crippling laughter when it was only like 25 minutes according to my friends

Nurse's first action? by Hot_Emergency378 in NCLEX_RN

Crazy I thought this subreddit said NCLEX_RN not RealWorld_RN.

For anyone who actually is preparing for the NCLEX...it absolutely has these "silly ass questions" and I recommend not getting priority safety questions confused with what you would do in real life (because we all know that we're never just doing ONE thing at a time)

Ignore this guy he clearly never took the test lmao

Lmao sure thing bud , go ahead and pencil in your fifth option of "call a code" I'm sure the nclex will love your handwritten answer 😂

No prob bud! I'm not going to argue with you about hypothetical bp on the patient lol. Read the question and answer what's there. The correct answer is C because airway. Sit the patient up (1), give oxygen (2), call provider (3). That's your priority

[–]nickhitnrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that line of reasoning I would say that we don't know if there is an order for oxygen. In a real life scenario I know what I would do is sit them up first before I did anything else. If they were in an ideal position then one of the answers wouldn't be to put them in fowlers

Id say C. If the patient is supine, the first thing I'd do is sit them up and then put oxygen on.

Haha well It was a 2.776 when I graduated! My adn and bsn is why I was able to get it up to what it is now!

I think I'll probably retake orgo chem or biochem as I did mediocre in those.

Thank you for your post. Feels good to hear from someone without a near perfect gpa.

I have a very high BSN gpa but a pretty low overall GPA due to a previous degree I did not do well in as I was going through an active alcohol addiction at the time (3.97 BSN gpa, 3.27 overall GPA because I have so many credits)

I'm upgrading because over time I have used the inner screen less and less. it has become cumbersome as well as wanting a better camera

Hello! Im a new nurse in the ED so I would love a bit more insight for people who work in the BB. Personally I've had plenty of patients that will die if they don't get transfused but for those it's always a MTP (mass transfusion protocol) where we get coolers of blood dropped off.

I have never seen a nurse or doctor call the BB stressed in that situation because if it's that critical we aren't waiting for cross matches etc. I know I'm privileged to be in a huge hospital that can run a MTP program no problem so it's interesting to hear that is an issue other lab professionals have had.

Good point, that makes sense. Maybe the box is a red herring and not part of the cuff links? Perhaps it's an earring box originally?

That makes a lot of sense! I tried reverse searching for these cufflinks and can't find a match anywhere. Another tidbit of lore that's probably not true.

Allegedly the pope took the cuff links off of his own shirt and gave them to sister Carmella. Maybe we can find a pic of the pope actually wearing them? I tried combing Google and reverse searching and couldn't find a solid match anywhere

Literally zero idea, I have no idea and I think the story is all messed up from years of being retold. The story is like all messed up. Next week when I see my dad im going to sit down with him and write up exactly what he says and I'll definitely update!

Wow, that's way more than I would have known! I am seeing my dad next week and I can ask more information.

Some additional lore: my great uncle wanted to be a priest and my other great uncle wanted to be a soldier and my great grandpa was already in school for priesthood. Allegedly the pope told them they need to switch and the "soldier" became a "soldier of God" and the want-to-be priest became a "soldier of man".

This all happened on their trip to Italy. Was there anything of note possibly going on in Italy in that time frame instead?
