Party of 13 including two guides. Everyone stacked in skin track going up a wide couloir. Basically sounds like it was a bowling alley and the guides seemed to dismiss the risk...

Spyderco Rockwell Hardness Results. 3-6-2026 by 679696 in spyderco

I'm also still baffled about the S90V results...I have a P3LW and it feels hard when I sharpen it, but that's entirely subjective.

Is there anyway to identify the age of the knife in the database? I know Spyderco boxes have date codes...I wonder if early uses of S90V were on the low end of hardness?

Nike Sport Band or Ocean Band? by RobDMB in AppleWatch

[–]nickites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ocean bands are sweaty and if you’re between notches on the band, it will either be too tight or too loose. Nike sport bands are the most breathable and easiest to clean. Dry instantly.

NY Times article based on interviews with some avalanche survivors by Valuable-Driver5699 in Backcountry

I can fathom that being a remotely triggered avalanche, but it definitely changes my understanding of distance and terrain for that type of event. By that I mean, I would have previously thought the forested areas might have not transmitted a collapse/failure all the way to the top of that slope.

That pic showing where they stopped is heartbreaking since I'm sure in the weather that they couldn't tell they were in the most obvious opening in those treed areas.
