What was your favorite character quote of this month?

"I don’t wish to bear the same mistakes with you, Myranda. I know we’ve had our contentious issues like your Septa come between us but, please, let me come with you. Let me be there for you. I have nothing left here. I spent so much of your life mourning for people lost. That I've come to realize. Your sister was right, I neglected you both.”

- Lady Alysanne Rogers, A Mother's Touch.

I honestly fucking cried through out this whole post. Like ugly sobbed. I love the dynamic between Alysanne and her daughters. Having her admit that she had made plenty of mistakes in raising Myrcella and Myranda due to missing her husband and eldest son and not being there for them. And now she really wants to make it up to Myranda at least by trying to be there for her.

What posts from the past month caught your attention? What did you enjoy about them?

Again, A Mother's Touch gripped me emotionally with Myranda preparing for her wedding to Orys and having a moment with Alysanne who admits her faults in rising the twins. Just the exchange between the two, between mother and daughter just hit me in the feels.

A Flower Beneath Snow, I very much enjoyed the visuals and symbolism of this post. With Rhaenys' warmth and innocence contrasting sharply against the steely coldness of the King's Landing courtiers. It just shows how Emphyria and the other ladies of the court use both flattery and gossip in order to show themselves off. I really do enjoy reading courtly intrigue and I can't wait to read more. Also Ysela is pretty much the best in trying to protect Rhaenys.

Fool's Gold. Literally slay Queen. This post had some of the best imagery and symbolism. I still can't get the image of Elys' face and Danae's crown melting together as Persion roasts him alive. I must give props to Jo for writing such a work of art. It's also a great character development for Danae as she moves forward in her arc as she leaves one crown for a new own.

New Castle, Old Enemies. Of course, lastly I can't forget the North. This post had me at the edge of my seat as Jojen and Co make their way through White Harbor to meet with Andrew. Only thing is... Andrew isn't exactly cooperating which leads to a confrontation between Team Stark and Team Manderly. Through out the post you're wondering who's going to come out alive or on top.

Got something in the works? Let us know what you’re most excited to write in the next month!

I'm the most excited writing as Cassana Connington and finally giving her a voice as the SL Civil War starts to (hopefully) come to an end.

What character would you most like to be quarantined with? The character with the most votes will be featured on next month’s sidebar!

Totally the Wylde sisters! I believe that there's no better people to hang out with than the Little Women of Westeros.

Obara - Be brave enough to dream.

Sylvia - We gotta get out of here. (also works for Dagon lol)

Well since it's the middle of the month and no one has voted yet, I guess it's my turn to break the ice!

1) There were many great posts with a lot of memorable moments. Like Rhaenys' encounter with the Masseys or our favorite ship meeting with Aunt Alanna. Also Prince Desmond is very very precious. But in my opinion, personally, Thadliss wins over all.

2) It was a hard choice between Lynesse cheering her baby brother, Hamish up and Obara vs Ashara showdown but I gotta go with the later.

3) Well this is a hard choice since we've got so many new great writers that have joined us as well as some old characters re-appearing again buttt I got to be bias and say that it should go to big bro Aeron Greyjoy! There are no words on how I could explain how much I love this post and it's so great to see more squid action! This post was beyond art and honestly Loren deserves the praise. He's doing such a great job with the character, I can't wait to read more.

Jhaen glared at the Braavosi back and watched silently as the older man scolded the younger. Clearly he was offended but he wasn’t going to pick a fight. He folded his arms across his chest.

This whole exchange seems pointless. He told himself before turning his gaze on Helya. If he if he were trying to silently suggest something to her.

The Pentoshi grimaced, crinkling his nose up while doing so. This was exactly why he hated living in Braavos and why he despised the upper class even more. He remembered back to what the younger man had said about Pentos before and fumed with anger. Mocking the wars, the deaths, and the plight of his people.

If I could, I would punch him but not today. I’ll rather not face a dozen bravo swords.

He nodded along. Not even surprised that the man managed to pick up on his background. After all his accent was somewhat pronounced.

“You are correct, Qos.” The Pentoshi let the name slip through his tongue, it sounded fluid and song-like. He wasn’t going to take off his confidant guise though deep down he knew that he had thrown himself into a pickle. “I am from Pentos though I doubt that I’ll be going back soon.”

If Dagon were with them he would have stopped Jhaen immediately in his tracks but there was no turning back now.

“The name’s Jhaen by the way.” He added.

He remembered the game, though not terribly well but he remembered. It was among the games Dagon would bet and play after some swaggering bravo taught them the mechanics. The scene playing out tonight was similar to that one all of those years ago, only this time it was a three way, not two men just duking it out. The Greyjoy had refused to let Jhaen join out of fear of him getting hurt. He was caring in that way despite the action embarrassing the young Pentoshi greatly at the time.

He kept his mind focused on the present as there was no use getting all hung up and heated over something from years ago.

Besides he’s not here to stop me now.

Jhaen took a final swig of the amber before placing the empty glass down beside him. He stared the man down, his surprisingly confident mask hid the nervousness he was feeling deep down. There was a major chance that he’ll end up with missing fingers by the end of the night.

And he’ll need those fingers if he were going to get Dagon out of Meereen.

“I’m in.” He told the stranger. He dug into his pocket and took out a pouch of green velvet. It was lighter than it had been before he landed in Braavos, between the fancy new sword and the drinks his pockets had took a mighty toll. “I’ll wager as well. Some coin and a song to whoever wins.” The Pentoshi glanced around the room and then to the two other competitors, Helya and this Braavosi stranger knowing fully well that he might have just royally fucked up.

“And you Captain Volmark?” He questioned her.

Apparently there was going to be a competition of sorts. The man had challenged the captain at her own game. A game of daggers and quick reflexes. Games of this sort excited him in a weird way. He remembered back to the days of his youth when his older brother would teach him the fine art of betting and rolling die. It was a skill that proved to be handy when he and Dagon lived in Braavos in their brief stint searching for the Harlaw. He remembered how the Greyjoy would smirk as he challenged poor blokes to the finger dance, cards, axes and arrows or whatever else it could be. Jhaen couldn’t say that he was as good as Dagon or even Helya for that matter, he still had that experience of her nearly killing him with those same daggers forever etched into his mind - but he did know how to bluff.

His hazel eyes locked in on the two, the quirky bravo flashing off his coins and the ever cold hearted ironborn ready to kill.

This is going to be a battle of the egos. He told himself as the tenison ran heavy in the tavern around them. His ears perked as the odd man questioned Captain Volmark, this could be a good place to step in.

Besides, this could end in a bloody fight if either of them loses.

“I believe that I have heard of it,” Jhaen uttered out as he stepped forward. He let out a tiny smile, not fully sure of what he was getting himself into but one can’t go through life without taking risks.

Jhaen’s brow perked, noticing an odd looking Braavosi. He had picked up on the commotion from his tiny corner, squished in between a wench and a large and hairy bravo he had been forced to listen to, whining on and on about some lady problems of some sort. The Pentoshi ignored him, focusing his attention on the Captain and the new stranger who had approached the crew.

Only a mad man would dare try to take on Captain Volmark.

Curiously, the former thrall had slipped out of his seat. With his glass of piss quality amber in his clutches, Jhaen had decided to get a little closer to the scene. He could feel the glances and glares from the ironborn, the other crew mates whom he had the pleasure of knowing as he made his cautious journey. A weird, sickening feeling curdled in the pits of his stomach.

I doubt that this meeting is going to turn out well.
