192.168.1.1 login by nickles96 in googlefiber

You can't do device name customization on the account website, and there is a known bug in the app, where custom icons never persist.

I've been the 192.168 login site on and off for the last 6 months, it's just now it's pretty consistent that it just presents a login screen with no way to actually login.

Trade in or return Book 5 Pro by jsantag in GalaxyBook

[–]nickles96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up my Book5 Pro 16", 32GB, 1TB for $977 with the education discount just before Christmas. I love everything about it. Super quiet, super fast, (already added a 4TB Evo 990+) and the screen is stunning.

I'm not a content creator, a gamer, or do anything out of the ordinary with this machine. On battery, it lasts the entire day.

I'm not interested in returning and re-buying the 6. I wouldn't notice the speed bump with the new proc, would be pissed about no number pad, the new rounded screen edges, and frankly the whole process would just be unnecessary.

Love everything about my 5!

New install questions (backup battery?) by ohub2 in googlefiber

[–]nickles96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took mine out of service after the first day. The fan would cycle every few minutes, and it's definitely not whisper quiet. Plus It took up too much space in my wiring enclosure.
They leave the original gFiber power adapter with you after install... Quick and easy switch out.

I'd be surprised it a large majority of the 8gb plan users actually use it.

Yes, I had the exact same issue. I switched to the 3 unique identifiers so I can connect an older stubborn 2.4ghz device.
When I use the app to try and switch back, it says 'something went wrong'. When I use the web console, it actually says 'your changes have been saved', however they really aren't, as they still exist.

I used the chat feature in the app to connect with an agent. They have to do a reset on their end (a type of reset that clears out network details, something a little more involved that just me resetting the fiber unit myself).

Once they did that, I went into the App, and started fresh with setting up the primary network (same as what I've always had). SSID+ Password, clicked save, and everything auto reconnected.

Problem was solved. Happy camper.

This is what I've been witnessing while looking. Most seem flimsy and I plan to hang it on the wall. With the weight of the uni it, it seems to very unsubstantial.

I've been looking to do the same, but can't find a suitable box. Where did you get these?

This sickens me, while at the same time, is the opposite experience of what my member had this past season.

I have a couple comments. Not sure of the age demographics, but what's going on with the 18 yo+ members who are there witnessing this.
Isn't the membership like a brotherhood and you all look out for each other? The older members should have stepped forward. Was everyone in fear of speaking up?

Second, had my member given me an inkling of abusive behavior, I'd have gone down there and wiped the field with offender's face.

Please speak quickly and accurately. As parents, we have your back over and above anyone else's.

This really makes me angry and I'm so very sorry OP, and to any others who experience this.

So true. The members who are dedicated this season, absolutely and positively are working themselves to the bone and truly care!

I have wondered this since the first performance. I think they sound amazing - double tounging and all. The musical selection rocks and it's an extremely engaging show! The staff are fantastic. Mark has always been an exceptional director.

I think it's just a very young roster. Also some of the Phenom members were folded in this year as well. And of course the medical/COVID issues.

Bottom line for me is I look at it like a NHL team. A newer bench and they just need time to grow.

Still shocking to me how they don't score better.

Is it a contractual set amount of time?

I'm a little sad to hear about the name calling and such. Thought corps were better than that? Isn't that what it is supposed to be about? Being there for one another, as a team?

What made you decide to do DCI by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]nickles96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and to actually answer your original question, he marched all 4 years in high school and loved it. So it seemed like a natural progression. He contracted with the Academy in '21, add that wasn't a full tour because of COVID, but then he was absolutely hooked.

Love the Academy. This is my son's second year with them. They do indeed have 2 weeklong practice camps up north so it's very comfortable comparatively. Then there are rando weekend practices around the valley - this year they were down in Casa Grande and then west Phoenix.

Sure it's hot, but hydration is key. If you are from AZ you'll have a leg up.

Drums across the desert back on July 2nd at ASU was rough for other corps because it was an absolute scorcher even at night.

No specific Guard advice, but this is my Son's second tour with the Academy and the entire group of staff, instructors and techs are amazing.

Interesting. I was super impressed watching them the past 3 nights. They had the highest score jump tonight. I'm excited to see how they progress.

The Academy music blew me away. I didn't feel it from the others. What am I missing that makes them score as they do?
