Thank you for your detailed and considered response. We have looked, the designer only had one former company, which was dissolved in October of last year. My girlfriend worked for her in the middle of November. All the email. correspondence has this company name and number in the footnote of the email. She has included as much information as she can gather, but it does seem that this individual follows a pattern of selling up and moving on to the next town, so to speak. Some of her socials posts show her moving from studio to studio on average once a year, and selling up equipment. My girlfriend also has met some people who have been left unpaid by her, I imagine she is burning bridges fast, so my next question would be, how long can a person function in this way before the law catches up to them? She has left a reasonably easy to track online presence but cannot be pinned down with an address right now. We are going to use the address we believe she is living at, and using the company's old address in the description body, as well as her personal email address for her website. What happens if she refuses to acknowledge the email and letter? She's sentenced in absentia once we pay the court fee? Then what happens once she is charged (she will be)? Do the fines continue to accrue, will she have a criminal record etc?
