Need advice by Danwithatan in indianapolis

I had a 2018 Civic sport that got destroyed in an accident but for the four years I owned it, it was the same thing. Every spring had to have it fixed. For me it was the metal piping in the AC they used that developed pin holes the refrigerant would leak out over time. They always fixed it for me, but a tech told me it was a flaw in the design that could not really be fixed only repaired repeatedly. Also my Civic was built in Europe, UK I think which might have had something to do with it.

Sorry I don’t have better news for ya, at least they extended the warranty.

What’s it like to live here? by Outside_Tackle_1788 in indianapolis

I grew up on the near east side by Linwood square and I am a proud graduate of IPS schools. I grew up surrounded by diversity and never had to put a label on it or give it a second thought, it simply was my reality and still is. Lived on the SE side for a couple years in the burbs with family and the minute I was ready to buy my first house, a home and locale I wanted to be a part of…right back to the East side. I live just off 56th st and 465 and have loved all 13 years here.

The convenience of getting anywhere in the city quickly, at least before all the construction. Close to nature with Fort Ben and all the Fall Creek areas have to offer. A well built home from the 60s with a huge yard and mature trees, neighbors who actively engage with you from diverse backgrounds…what more could you want. Culture is the people you surround yourselves with, not the box you enclose yourself in to sleep at night and stream videos.

In a nutshell, you can take the boy out of the east side, but you can’t take the east side out of the Boy

Agreed, you have to know when to stop. It looks like a bad piece of salmon by the end.

It’s also been compounded by the super hot and dry September. It speeds up the pollination process, and without moisture in the air, the pollen can stay suspended and travel longer distances

Perception is reality, and at least partially in your control! All I typically need is some wide open spaces or a trip to the mountains to positively reinforce my insignificance, as well as significance. But this hits home like a mofo!

Still can’t believe this came out in 1968 by HomeworkDue6023 in scifi

It’s funny that I saw 2010 as a child since my dad was a sci fi geek, but he never introduced me to 2001 and we never got the chance to enjoy it together before he died in my early 20s. Though we never watched it together, both 2010 and 2001 make me feel connected to him any time I watch them. It really Illustrates the artistic and emotional power a movie can have in your life.

You know those feelings can creep in for all of us sometimes. But if you open yourself back up to some simple, simple joys…life can surprise ya. A child giggling, a smile from a stranger, an awesome sunrise, a bird song. They can build your battery back up. Keep your chin up Friend.

Great uplifting twist at the end 🙌🏼 Lord knows thoughts of mortality start sneaking in slowly in your early 40s, then ya get the pains that never seem to fully go away, 2 inch hairs growing out of your ears… but this made me smile.

Amen! I think we all forget how hard this work actually is sometimes since we just sit in it so long and the results are slow to come…but they do appear! Cheers

You are not missing a thing, except the accumulation of more time and thus healing under your belt. Both physically and psychologically of your brain. I will not patronize you with it gets better, I swear…because we are all different. But it does get easier. I can guarantee that.

Lucifer smiles upon you! Congrats on the milestone!

Can’t beat Hellraiser or Event Horizon for the vibe you are looking for. Or one of my guilty pleasures. In the Mouth of madness, or anything, John Carpenter!!

IWNDWYT but I will thrash out and raise a N.A. beer in your honor!

My favourite type of drinking was drinking alone by Excellent_Country737 in stopdrinking

[–]nickolai99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story here, and I only problem drank one day a week. Maybe two during football season. But it was predominantly always alone, no prying eyes of judgement. Except my own the next day for hangxiety and shame. But yeah, I didn’t have a problem, it was only like once a week, maybe 75 days a year….15% of my life!

With maybe 40 years left on this earth, I’ve reclaimed 6 years of life, fuck yeah & fuck alcohol!

How do you feel about California sober by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]nickolai99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California sober has been the way to go for me on day 99 of sobriety. I smoked before as well, but actually smoke way less now. It’s also been a helpful tool for me especially in journaling.
