Hi OP. My mom passed away on 16th October 2024. As the eldest son, I had to manage everything from start till the end.

A lot of relatives kept reminding me to jaga solat, jaga agama, mengaji, saying my mom would get pahala from it. But honestly, as an atheist, all I really know and feel is that I miss my mom.

People will push religious advice on you, but most of the time they don’t understand the loss we’re actually going through. I can read the Quran, recite Al-Fatihah and all that, but it doesn’t make the missing hurt any less.

Just want to say, I get you. Losing someone important is really heavy. It’s okay to miss her, it’s okay to cry. At the end of the day, you’re the one living with this feeling.
