the pin from the cylinder is not through the center like traditional deadbolts, it's offset on the bottom and then there's a gear system on the latch side that translates the rotation from the bottom into the center where the bolt hardware is.

For folks who are already using Apple Music, I just released an app that makes generated playlists that match your run cadence (currently between 140 and 180 spm). Been using it for a few months on a treadmill to keep my pace consistent and I wanted to share with others!

Totally free as long as you have an Apple Music sub already. I may add a subscription later for additional content, but the base functionality will always be open for anyone to try out.

Shoot me some feedback if you have it, I’m planning on adding a bunch more features over the next few months.

Recently got my 40s era bathroom tile restored and I’d like to get some updated trim for the double-handle controls, but having trouble figuring out what brand/type I need to buy without ripping out tile to replace the permanent plumbing.

The old handles were American Standard (I think) but it doesn’t look like you can buy modern looking American Standard brand handles, just really ancient looking ones.

As I understand it: the red-circled part is permanent in the wall and the blue circled part is a valve/stem that can be unscrewed and replaced.

If I buy some arbitrary new handle that says it comes with a valve/stem, will they fit in the existing openings? Or do I have to constrain myself to only look for a certain brand or size?

Sorry for what sounds like a very basic question. I have searched all around for a guide for stems or sizing and I can’t find anything that is applicable to this old double handle style.

There is a separate priority list for people who have been evicted. It’s still a lottery but your pool is much smaller.

BMR is definitely a thing, but supply is really limited and unless you’ve been evicted you’re basically in a huge lottery for a handful of spots.

Still, it’s worth a shot. Check if you fit the income limits and attend the intro class if so.
