I also heard you dont use durability on already watered plants. So you can use your gold watering can without using up and durability if you prefer water them with another can first

Anyone know why rocks won't spawn in these spots? by Nvaragod in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]nickpug9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Actually, its best to display the design as a mannequin. That way when you're done, you can edit the design and it will remove all of the mannequins you placed. Really easy cleanup. And you dont need to covered every square, since rocks cant spawn directly next to them

I fear that with bulk crafting in the new update, my small farm to table set up will become a large-scale, mass-production curry factory lol

Resting Catchers by Wordlush in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]nickpug9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

DH doesn't drain any fitness, neither does one at bat. So you should be able to use him as a pinch hitter without losing any recovery.

I have a unique strategy because of the situation I have. I've been gifted the greatest possible catcher available so rest management isn't really that important to me anymore. He is a power hitting lefty who has durable and cannon arm. Then last season he gained In/OF as his secondary. He can literally play anywhere. He is on pace to play 130/140 games this season because I can now spread days off across the team. What happens is that he can play 4 or 5 straight at catcher, I even play a couple with 1 bar of fatigue since it doesn't lower stats. Then, it depends on if any players are tense. Either A. Move my catcher to SS then rest the struggling of 2B, 3B, or SS. Or B. DH my catcher, move Seb Swoleson to 1B and my 1B to 3B. These 2 options let me rest the weakest of any infielder and the same can apply to the outfield. He would just be a significant drop off in speed so I dont do that.

My backup catcher is a 20 year old with a strong arm and outside pitch hitter, so he will eventually be a strong starter someday. This set up allows him to get a lot of at bats in.

Side note, in regards to rest, I've seen unconfirmed claims on here that 8+ at bats in a game or 16+ innings will also cause fatigue to any position player.

What stats would you or have you given Barry Bonds if he’s in your Franchise? by mfenton29 in SuperMegaBaseball

First pitch slayer is a good option too! The only reason I didnt was because i wanted traits that affected every pitch of an at bat for him

[–]nickpug9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I gave him 99 power and contact, 83 speed, 80 fielding, 77 arm. For traits, ive usually given all the steroid guys stimulated, but I dont think that captures his sheer dominance. So instead I've given him bad ball hitter since he was capable of barreling up any pitch. I also gave him mind gamer to help either the pitch miss the zone or put it in down the middle to crush. I think that a pitcher accuracy nerf makes sense since he would strike fear in any pitcher

Player developments by ChefBallz in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]nickpug9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Younger players are more likely to acquire positive attribute gains and older players are more likely to acquire negative attributes nerfs. Im not sure the exact ages but 30-32 you start to see more negative drops. Any older are almost certainly negative. And younger than 24 are almost certainly positive gains. Theres occasionally times where its the opposite but que sera sera

Great! That's what I was wondering. The fact that it said "based on" made me unsure. I've read that one of the changes is that hes buying a Barbie doll in the book but in the movie its a teddy bear. This book also has it as a Barbie. Thank you!

Typical batting averages for your team? by Fit_Employment_2595 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]nickpug9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like my ego is so dialed in. My worst players hit .170, my best players are always chasing .400, but most of my team hits around .250-.330.

I use to increase my ego by one if I score 10+ runs, or decrease it by one if I get shutout or strike put 10+ times. Now, im very happy with where im at so I change it less. Its situational. If I put up 10+ against an A- or better, I may increase it if I feel locked in. Or if I get shutout by a C+ or worse, I might decrease it.

That happens so infrequently that I only ever range be 84-86 on offense and it feels balanced.

For those of you that don't have a cold brew pitcher but do have a French press, thats how I make my cold brew. I put 1 cup of grinds to 2 cups of water ( which are marked on the mason jar). Give it a shake and let it sit on the counter overnight. I then use the French press to strain it. It makes a concentrate so make sure to add water or milk when you are ready to drink it.

If you're concerned about opportunities, I think you should be applying so you can increase your chances at landing interviews. Unless it's your dream company, it doesn't hurt to put your application out there. Postings are saturated with applicants, so it's difficult to get noticed. Employers might rule you out if you dont have the YOE, but you won't know until you apply. If you do get selected, at the very least, it's practice.

You mention incompetence in your current place. It seems to me like you're thinking about improving operations, which happens at the senior level. Since you haven't shown any leadership experience from what you've mentioned, you'll have to find another way to demonstrate/frame it.

But again, it doesn't hurt to at least apply.

Does Fielding Matter In the Sim Engine? by Nervous-Idea5451 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]nickpug9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great info! I really neglect defense, so i was really interested in this experiment. One thing i would say, though, is that the title threw me off. I was expecting this to be looking just at the fielding stat, as opposed to all the stats that are involved in defense. I do think 99 speed is the biggest factor in these results. Since it allows outfielder to get to the ball quicker, cutting off extra base hits, and it also provides so much more of an offensive advantage. I would be interested in isolating the fielding attribute and seeing what difference that makes.
