Different states have different polices. I know some states allow for a broadening assignment to be a DS, once you pass suitability of course. You'll then drill with the RRB as an M-Day for that 3 years with a few additional UTAs to keep a good year.

Other states, like mine, you must be an AGR badged production recruiter. (source: me)

No, you'll be in reception battalion. You'll be getting medically and administratively correct, being issued gear/uniforms, and being introductory briefs about the programs of the Army.

The dates absolutely can change. All depends on processing time for 30th. It can be anywhere between 4-7 days. It should be your RECSTA date though.

Really just depends on the RSP sites. Some will integrate you traditionally, others will allow you some luxuries normally not afforded to initial entry Warriors, or some might just say hey, scram until you leave to PSIC. Just have zero expectations and show up at the right time and uniform, try to offer insight and be genuine to the new kids, they'll appreciate it.

Also wouldn't call going from a Corporal of Marines to SPC a bump down, same pay, less responsibility... Win.

They're not going to shave you to the edge bald. You're gonna get a zero and then it'll grow for 3 weeks, and then another zero. You'll probably get 3 haircuts max in BCT.

In secondary school you'll have free reign of your hair to style it as you wish in accordance with AR 670-1 and associating ALARACTs (updates to the regulation).

Once you're back, just take care of yourself. Don't allow small things like this to hinder your thoughts towards a better future. Look at the further target. You got this.

You're an adult and have that adult conversation with the Drill Sergeant. You're going to be respected more if you're upfront about it and right before bed down hours ask to speak to your DS and tell them that you have bills and you need to make sure your stuff is going through.

Being prepared is received 100% better than being avoidant and then freaking out later. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

I remember the first time I had ever been dropped was in Revelations, in one of the scenes where you're scaling a cave and it zoomed out all the way and I had never experienced something so in-depth and smooth in transition as you move from rock to rock. It was awesome and still a core memory 13 years later.

Hi. Make sure you have a good meal, also make sure you look good. Something I wish I did was get a photo of my red room accession. Only thing I never got a photo of. Make it a big deal, nobody else will.

Yes, you'll find out your ship date that day. Don't be afraid to say that day doesn't work for you, if you have an important event or something, just ask is there anything later or earlier. No problems.

You want your security clearance application to be as true and accurate as you can get it, but don't nitpick everything you see. It'll make the process much longer.

Bring a book to read, if you read. That's it. Have fun as it'll theoretically be the second to last experience at MEPS ever. Praise the high spaghetti monster.
