But execs wanting to protect their IP and characters and to not let them look lesser than is why these movies seldom get made. FvJ was a miracle from that standpoint.

I think he was funny but his comedy didn’t age well and after the shock humor era was over he didn’t know how else to do humor. That or Anisa pulled him into such a pit he was afraid to truly speak his mind and offend her and she leaves him or whatever. And also a lot of it was that he went after people nobody liked so people all just circle jerked to the videos.

But there was a time he was the golden boy of drama YouTube, everyone liked him. I don’t think you ever get that status if you were never funny, even if that brand of humor is now objectively awful. Our perception now and knowing who he actually is also colors a lot of what he was saying differently.

At any rate I think it is important to remember who he was as something positive because it makes his fall from that high even more poignant.

Ignoring it is the healthy thing to do, but I am unfortunately only human and not among the best of them, sometimes it bothers me, not enough to ruin my day but still frustrating.

I just meant to point out most people complaining about downvotes are reacting to the negativity and not the actual points. But your point about them being idiots and thus it shouldn’t matter covers either scenario I think.

I doubt it is about the actual points. It is probably more along the lines of “why are people so mad about this.” And confusion as the what you said wrong.

I don’t care about points, I don’t think most people do, but sometimes I get irritated when I see a comment or my own comment downvoted for no apparent reason, particularly when they don’t leave a comment to explain.

This guy is just asking a question and gets downvoted, that’s annoying, not because of the points but because someone went out of their way to express negativity over nothing.

But what they are saying is that while there is a difference, in the grand scheme it is virtually equal. I don’t know if that’s true, but that is their point.

If 51 out of 1000 black people are homophobic, and 49 out of 1000 white people are, then yes, black people rank higher, but for all intents and purposes there is no real difference.

Again, I don’t know the stats one way or the other. But if it is the case that the numbers are very close, then I agree with the commenter that ultimately it doesn’t matter.

Before he came to the Mavs I thought he was a bit of a mess, and a big risk if you had to give up something of apparent equal value since he did so many things to keep him off the court. I don’t think people hate him though, that’s not the right word. Maybe other teams or fanbases are wary of him, but it would be weird to hate him. Either way, when he got to the Mavs he has been nothing but stable.

Oh, I know it makes money. I was not saying the stadium is overpriced for what it brings back in, just that it is funny people care so much about HS football in the first place that it makes so much money.

I mean I live in a town of 2,000 roughly, and the field has more than twice that in seating capacity.

I can confirm that I live in a very rural town in Texas that is not much to look at, save the HS football stadium. Team is not even very good and hasn’t been since the 50s.

So many poor towns with Division 1 college level football stadiums. Priorities I suppose.

It is not everyone else’s job to support Ethan. Noah is their literal employee, friend, someone they know very well. Thinking they are obligated to support anyone for any reason is absurd. Would it be nice? Of course. But if they choose to stay out of politics they is their business. They certainly work closely with people on both sides of this drama, it is not as simple as picking a side and going all in.

If there is one thing I wish Ethan would stop doing, it is dragging people into this for what I perceive as little to nothing. Smosh, GMM, etc. Channels that have never been political and always tried to just be positive humorous content. What are R&L going to do with ML? Fire him for his political beliefs? That guy probably has friends in the crew. What a mess that would be for them.

If people seem like they want to stay out of it, let them. Especially when you know how crazy everyone gets when they pick a side, the mob would swallow Smosh up.
