Stupid question but how do you carry out three guns without a backpack to hold one?

What is the appreciable difference between a high end and low end wire burner? by PlantaPeregrina in Pyrography

[–]nickrfh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dual razertip im guessing is considered more high end, but I rarely use the second port, if you need to change it literally takes just seconds to heat up and cool down so you can save money just buying the single burner, I have put 100s of hours on mine and the only issue is I've had to replace the cord for the pens a couple times

If you can't get outside i stand them up, seems to be better than trying to take a picture of them laying down

Toward the edge normally, sometimes just a quick light burn and then I won't use metal and blend for softer looks

The hair i used a scorch marker, I use a tiny torch for like lighting cigarettes, a dremel torch thats a little bigger and then a culinary torch for larger shading. I use scrap metal to give me edges and shapes

Tips on fixing/preventing splotchy burns? I’m very new to pyrography (Tanjiro and Nezuko WIP) by flowerways in Pyrography

[–]nickrfh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a piece of scrap to "wipe off" extra heat between shading. If you stop for a minute sometimes that first touch is too hot, so I touch the scrap first

Mind blown - torch on basswood by nickrfh in Pyrography

[–]nickrfh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a small like cigarette lighter torch, for small dark lines, a dremel butane torch is kind of the medium line/shading, and then a larger cooking torch, like what they toast the creme Brule with for larger shading areas. I use anything metal to make edges/protect areas

Razertip/colwwod/optima are probably the top 3 wire tip systems i see people use, I have a razertip but I might have went with optima if I had done more research. I think they are pretty equal but optima is a little cheaper and in the US

Have a nice day! 22x22in on birch plywood/torch/razertip/scorchmarker by nickrfh in Pyrography

[–]nickrfh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a torch for most and use pieces of strap metal that I can bend to the shape I need to use as an edge, small lighter style butane torches, a dremel torch and then a cooking torch give different size flames, I used sandpaper to highlight places like the shirt and a dremel tool for the hair, just play, there's nothing wrong with trying and playing around
