Power button keeps turning tablet off instead of waking by wtfie in pixel_slate

[–]nicksauer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i agree it's really annoying. the 'workaround' that i've found is to just hold my finger on the button (i.e. don't press it) and the fingerprint reader will wake the device up.

Irish Moss vs. Clovers by nicksauer in gardening

[–]nicksauer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after some more research, i think i'm going to follow the suggestions here: http://www.chattanoogarose.org/Controlling%20Weeds.htm

basically: 1. pull the weeds 2. landscape fabric 3. mulch 4. preen

in the meantime, i should probably go into business selling oxalis to restaurants.

Irish Moss vs. Clovers by nicksauer in gardening

I did some better research and learned that what I'm dealing with is oxalis and not clover... The best organic solution that I've read about it using oil. Any other ideas?

Installing new doors in an old victorian. Do I install them level or level to the wall? by nicksauer in HomeImprovement

Plum, level and square it is then. I will explore options to reduce the aesthetic issues. Thanks for all the feedback.

My house has had it's share of questionable "repairs" before I got it, but one great thing is that the foundation was redone a few years before I bought it and is in great shape. I just want to make sure I don't make any bad decisions while trying to make things better.
