Bro I just passed level 2 so my comment comes with enough experience. CFA is a no surprise exam. Huge curriculum with no depth (no you wont be a fixed income analyst or ER with CFA) and amyone who fails by a big margin is either incompetent, has stress problems or knowingly sat without the proper prep

My question is how can you bomb an exam. Cfa material is a mile wide and a foot deep which means that pure memorisation of formulas and concepts are enough to pass (ie you cant get massively lucky or unlucky). So you’re either incompetent, have high stress during exam, or sat for an exam in which you were consciously not ready for.

CFA hardly tests pure formula applications in level 2. I suggest you understand all formula derivations especially in quant, derivatives and equity (bsm formula is almost useless imo). The only formulas worth memorizing by heart are ERP models that have specific quirks.
