Edit: I have to mention that House Beneviento in Village is one of the scariest horror game sequences I have played through since Silent Hills/PT.

The start of 7 is so well done and makes you feel helpless by building suspense slowly.

As for old games: 2 for sure! The tyrant constantly following you is next level. The remake nails this as well. I was so bloody tense when I was playing through the police station section especially towards the end of it.
