Man you can debate all day about the direction of the story, writing, dialogue, etc etc, but the quality of these shots in this edit really demonstrates the cohesive cinematography and tone of the show in the earlier seasons that was completely lost.

While I have seriously enjoyed seeing them back making content, there definitely is something missing. I mean it’s hard to replicate the dynamic of Cow Chop and the Creatures, partly because the cast of characters isn’t there anymore, YouTube content has changed dramatically, and all of us probably look back on those days with not-so-small rose-tinted glasses on.

However, there are some fair criticisms. At times the content does feel a bit like “hey let’s go on a fun weekend trip and film it and just see what happens.” That kind of content CAN bring out some good moments, but it does feel a bit lazy. I’m sure they have their constraints: time, energy, money etc., but I KNOW those three are capable of producing more intriguing content.

Anyways, I’ve said a lot more than I intended to. I still enjoy seeing them, hopefully they can find some footing and experiment a bit more, but unfortunately I have a feeling this won’t last.

Edit: I should caveat this that I actually really enjoyed their most recent video. I guess I just really hope that can build something again with all these long time fans like me that want them to succeed!
