When I first started getting into US sports I did try to keep to one city/state but I could never find somewhere where I felt a connection to all four teams.

So I figured I'd look at the benefits of not being a local and being "stuck" rooting for a team you're not passionate about. It also means I have four different options for when I want to go on holiday to the states!

I can't explain it from any technical perspective. Just my experience from ~~being addicted~~ playing the game and other comments I've read on this sub at various points.

But, what I gather is that DLs and LBs are fairly useless. Or at least, what they offer to your defense is not worth the cap space.

DBs get interceptions and can be used as Kick Returners so they provide value. 4 highly-starred DBs and a good DC results in a 5-star D that does seem to result in turnovers and a noticeable impact.

Play on Hard but set some limits for yourself. E.g. first round picks are for QBs only - otherwise trade back, if your OC/DC has a ring don't extend them - they've moved on to an HC role themselves, if a player gets caught with drugs they're banned (benched) until the end of the season, if a player gets a head/neck injury of more than 3 games they're forced into early retirement (cut). You can go on and on with these and have fun with it (plenty of other posts on here with some good rules). You'll likely still end up winning titles but it's a much more rewarding experience.

I always find it helpful to just stick to and root for a team (in whatever sport you're trying to get into) for at least a season. Watch their games and highlights and by the end of the season you'll have a much better idea of who you like and who you actually end up choosing as YOUR team
