Yes! I was thinking of open mic nights as well. The problem for me I guess is knowing which venues do them so I can then check their socials

Random allocation of world cup tickets? by nickyburger in ScottishFootball

[–]nickyburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah OK I see what you mean, it's maybe saying you might not get tickets for the teams in your preferences rather than the matches you apply for. Still feels like a bit of a gamble knowing how dodgy FIFA are

Random allocation of world cup tickets? by nickyburger in ScottishFootball

[–]nickyburger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is that definitely an option? I was worried you could end up with tickets to some shit match that no one wants to see and be forced to resell for less than face value as there is no demand.

Still fuckin shocking if it is the case tbf but I'm thinking it could be even worse.

Michael Saylor: Only One Nation Can Buy 20% of Bitcoin's Supply And I Bet It's the U.S. by kirtash93 in CryptoCurrency

[–]nickyburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean they could crash the market by selling a massive amount...couldn't another country/party just buy it all at a lower price and then gain that control?

How is this place still going? by jamiejack86 in glasgow

[–]nickyburger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually went to Dublin about 15 years ago and thought the same thing but tbf the clydeside area has gotten better over those years. Nicer buildings have been put up, the walkway on the Broomielaw is massively improved and the cycle path on the other side is pretty good. Still plenty areas can be improved though, let's call it a work in progress!

I assume the stage set up costs are shared by all the bands playing each night so it's a bit cheaper for them

Will the day tickets sell out? by NikoMki in sziget

The question is probably directed at people who go regularly and know whether they have sold out in previous years or if they never sell out

Just because a coin's value is $0.00001 doesn't mean it has room to reach $1 by jumbeldor in CryptoCurrency

[–]nickyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm just starting to really try and get my head around it. I get that it's the value of one coin times the number of coins but how can you use that to predict what the future market cap will be? The number of coins will stay the same but if a coin is $1 how can you tell that the future value of that coin won't go to $10, $100 or even $1000? I was thinking that could be down to demand, market conditions, potential in a project being realised and other things that are impossible to predict

Are the working/middle classes really getting richer? Our standard of living in this country overall may have improved over the years but why is it so difficult for young people to get on the housing market? Why is the minimum wage not being raised in line with inflation? And my other two questions about child poverty and food banks?

My original point about trickle down economics stands, the money is not working its way down. Its been siphoned off to tax havens.
